This section is for cannabis concentrate discussion, troubleshooting, terminology, solventless processing, rosin, bubble hash, dry sift, kief, tinctures, infusions, edibles, topicals, storage, equipment discussion, and responsible processing questions.
This sticky replaces the old individual stickies. Older threads are still part of the forum archive, but a sticky is not an endorsement that every older method, claim, or safety assumption is current.
When starting a new thread, use a specific title. Good titles get better answers.
Examples:
- Flower rosin coming out dark — cured flower, 62% RH
- Bubble hash drying question — 73µ and 120µ
- Dry sift cleanup — first run
- Tincture came out too green — ethanol question
- Rosin cart separation after decarb — troubleshooting
- Press advice for small home harvest
Avoid vague titles like:
- Help
- What is this?
- Need advice fast
- Did I mess up?
- Starting material: flower, trim, kief, dry sift, bubble hash, rosin, tincture, etc.
- Condition of material: fresh, dried, cured, frozen, age, visible contamination concerns
- Goal: dabs, hash, rosin, tincture, edibles, topical, vape/cart, storage, cleanup, etc.
- Equipment used: press, bags, screens, washer, jars, filters, cartridge hardware, storage container, etc.
- What went wrong: texture, color, taste, smell, yield, separation, contamination, mold concern, harshness, failure to dry, failure to dab, etc.
- Photos, when relevant. Upload images directly to THCFarmer rather than hotlinking external images.
- Solventless: rosin, bubble hash, dry sift, kief, temple balls, fresh frozen, live rosin, hash rosin, curing, drying, storage
- Infusions: butter, oil, tinctures, gummies, topicals, decarb questions, potency-estimate discussion when framed responsibly
- Equipment: rosin presses, bags, screens, washers, freeze dryers, jars, storage, cartridge hardware, and processing tools
- Troubleshooting: dark rosin, green tincture, low yield, harsh taste, wet hash, cart separation, consistency changes, mold/contamination concerns
- Professional/compliance discussion: licensed equipment, lab testing, packaging, storage, safety engineering, and general regulatory considerations
Do not use this forum to buy, sell, trade, source, ship, test, gift, or solicit cannabis, hash, concentrates, extracts, seeds, clones, pollen, solvents, or any controlled/restricted item. Do not post “DM me,” “where can I buy,” “who ships,” or similar sourcing requests.
No step-by-step instructions for improvised flammable-solvent extraction, open blasting, residential solvent runs, bypassing safety controls, modifying pressure vessels, or using inappropriate chemicals to make consumable concentrates.
Solvent-based extraction is not a casual kitchen project. Discussion should stay at the level of legal, permitted, properly engineered, closed-loop/commercial systems, compliance, testing, general safety concepts, and when to consult qualified professionals.
Do not process moldy, pesticide-contaminated, unknown, or otherwise unsafe material for consumption. When in doubt, discard it or get proper testing.
Do not present concentrates, oils, tinctures, or topicals as guaranteed cures for disease. Personal experience is fine; medical diagnosis, treatment claims, and pressure on sick members are not.
Do not encourage unsafe consumption, impaired driving, workplace impairment, underage use, or “challenge” behavior.
Staff may edit, move, merge, lock, or delete posts that are unsafe, illegal, sales/sourcing related, spammy, or off-topic.
