recent post option

When i login the "recent post" option in the forums tab is not there, when i logout the "recent post" option in the forum tab is there.

I like to use this "recent post" option in the forum tab, but i can only use it when i'm logged out, am i doing something wrong?

So I've been wondering . . .
When I reply to a thread, it never appears on the new posts listing for me. No big deal but it would seem like a new post would be acknowleged (I need validation in my life, LOL).

It's all still there. 'New Posts' shows all the new posts that have been posted, excluding the ones you have just commented in. 'Recent Posts' shows all the recent posts made including the ones you've just commented in.

I've attached a screenshot highlighting where both options are found. You just need to look a little more carefully! Imagine how you guys are when it comes to small print. LOL
