anyone used a distiller for water from Amazon?
There are also some moonshiner kits.

i have the MH-DA4B Still for Alcohol & Essential Oil Making. runs a little cooler than the water still.

highly recomend.

sorry no pictures

the still will get you to within about 3/4 of a cup of the finished product.

the final step is done on a coffee/candle warmer or a double boiler of sorts.

the thing about the still is that you'll recapture a fair bit of the everclear for the next batch.

So you put your alcohol that you wash trim/bud with and this cooks off the alcohol and seperates it and the oil?

I began my extraction career with 190 Proof Ethanol, which is heavily taxed, soooooo quickly began experimenting with ways to recycle it. Stills are easy to make, so I experimented with this one:
https://skunkpharmresearch.com/alcohol-reclaim-still/

At Skunk Pharm Research, we also experimented with commercial designs like the Mega Home alcohol still like:
http://www.steamdistiller.com/essential-oil-alcohol-still/

You pick up water from the process, so to return the EtOH to an azeotropic 190 proof again, you will need either a vacuum still or a fractionating still. Here is a design I came up with:
https://skunkpharmresearch.com/enabler-alcohol-fractionating-still/

You can recover the EtOH with less heat using vacuum and rotary evaporators. Check:

the video is pretty much how I did it with few twists.

starting with 3 oz of buds i would do 3 quick washes stirring each wash with a stick for 3 minutes. after the last wash I would press the remaining ever clear using a jerky gun with one of those round sink strainers in the end of the jerky gun.

there's a collection container that comes with the still. before dumping the liquid in the still, fill the collection container and then put a piece of scotch tape at that level on the container. use that tape to know when you're almost done. I would sut down the still and remove what's left and put in the double boiler when the liquid level was about a third the way up the tape which was maybe 3/4 of a cup.

I would yield about 10 to 12 gm of finished oil from 3 oz of buds, enough for 1 syringe

heres another theory/practice that i personally haven't tried,

"Most people out there do the QWET or Quick Wash Ethanol method which yields about 3-4 grams of oil per ounce or around 13% to 14% extraction yield. The total cannabinoid content of an ounce is about 5-5.5 grams of oil, anything above that is just chlorophyll and plant waxes.

The "SCET" method or Slow Cold Ethanol will output maximum cannabinoid content while keeping the chlorophyll and plant waxes locked away in a frozen state. Extraction yield will be 17% to 19% while your oil should look more translucent like maple syrup.
I do a couple of quick blasts in a food processor, it helps break up the buds and lowers the amount of ethanol needed to cover the product.

Stick all your ethanol and product in the freezer for at least 12 hours. Once your ethanol reaches the coldest temperature your freezer can provide you are done, its not going to get colder by waiting any longer but you do want your product to freeze so 12 hours should be fine.

Mix your product with your ethanol in a jar with a lid and give it a good shake, put back in the freezer for 12 hours. After 12 hours shake again and put back in the freezer for another 12 hours, shake one last time and strain to get the big stuff out.

Strain through a coffee filter, for high amounts you want to do it through several filters at the same time to avoid warming up your ethanol. At those extremely low temperatures things will get stuck in the filter which would be liquid at room temperature. This is commonly referred to as "winterizing" or filtering while cold."

maybe I would lose about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of everclear per batch based on the weight of the buds after being pressed through the jerky gun and what I boiled off at the end.
