One my kids has a big hydro grow that I'll admit is way far from in compliance with numbers. Most card holders I've seen aren't following the 6 plant rule cuz its pretty hard n not practical to even grow your own meds and follow that rule 100%. We are retired n grow a couple ornamental ganja trees in the garden for fun but heck once these plants are all bloomin we'll be over our number technically
hopefully certainly at harvest over weight. I've always been on the fence rather its safer to have the card n not need it or need the car n not have it if ya are gonna ignore numbers. I think the whole thing pretty damn dumb. The wife worries though so.....

Anyhow yesterday the youngest kid n his old lady get in a verbal argument with bro-inlaw during a barbque. I guess the guy got drunk n aggro n real loud n neighbors called metro. Well by the time they arrived the drunk was gone n my son was inside "calmin down". The cops smelled herbs n instantly barged in no warrant no nothing asking wheres the weed. I guess my son presented his n his ol'ladies cards n the pigs just glanced with a disappointed face in left.........no walk through no counting plants no nothing.......this is no shit the sixth person I've heard this happen to and two of these were in big club ran industrial set ups. Has anyone been sweated by pigs over compliance n had them actually count your shit?

ya my buddy had this same thing happen..then the feds came back a few days later and kicked the door off the hinges. do you think the cops just put you on the auto forget list?
why have a redcard if your not going to follow the redcard rules to some degree!?

well most just get a higher plant count for the amount they are growing.

if your a single patient with the 6plant count how are you not able to grow enough for yourself with even 1-2-3 plants??

I've had cops tell me the numbers things a joke n medical marijuanas a mess in its just a waiste of time n money policing it anymore. No once we harvest we will be way over weight in I can''t see how any patient smoking a half to an OZ a week supports the demand n stays COMPLETELY compliant n legal. I doubt it. In the recs is just a "rec" in the way i've understood it a defense in court but then again imho so is a redcard.

A red card isn't a 'get out of jail free' card, but it shows that the holder has gone to some trouble to document his need for MMJ That alone is often excuse enough for the cops to leave them alone- unless there is something really obviously untoward going on. I agree that the numbers thing is silly and it's good to hear that many in law enforcement are getting that message, too-

A large and growing number of aquittals is also sending a clear message to both cops and DAs that 'the People' don't want cops busting balls over even large infractions of plant numbers, so long as they are patients and can reasonably show they're just trying to take care of theirs and others' medical needs.

Finally, it appears that treating police with respect is a great way to get them off your case, literally. A police officer on duty has incredible power and latitude to do whatever pops into his/her head at the time. Showing them a red card and a polite and respectful attitude gives them a reasonable excuse not to think of you as a threat to public safety- and thus to leave you alone.

The law allows you to grow more....aka..what you NEED without putting that yer growing 24 or whatever on yer doc's rec. The law also says "2 0unces of smokable marujuana or any prepartion therof"......so hey...here it's 2 ounces of BUBBLEHASH...not pot......and that takes a shit ton of plants to make...LOL.

When the cops were here...they saw a good dozen plants IN FLOWER...yet we only have 2 cards. Nothing was said about numbers....nor did they look around the rest of the house where I had..probably 40 more plants because I had recently taken a tray of clones.....

The card is NOT a waste......and a "rec' will NOT protect you at your door like the card will. It says time and time again in Amendment 20 that to be considered a "patient" and have legal status you gotta PAY THE FUCKIN FEE AND BE ISSUED A CARD.... just like ANY OTHER state ran program (hunting/fishing/business/taxes)....you gotta be REGISTERED to be LEGAL. (have the affirmative defense in court) Without a card and only the "rec", you have a xeroed sheet of notebook papaer that can easily be forged/faked...and has NO merit because you have not been accepted into the MMJ program by the State.

For $35...the card is damn cheap protection, IMO. Not infallable....but far better than flying without.

^^^If its gonna stay as cool as it is for everyday patients thats exactly how I see it too. I hunted fished n drove without licenses for years but its so much more relaxing to just pay for the paper n enjoy it as I got older. I gotta admit it feels great to fire up a fat bomber on the deck in the morning n not feel threatened anymore.

When I was a teen it was felony most places for a joint. Long hairs weren't welcome in a lotta small towns n there was still counties n the bible belt where displaying tattoos in public is illegal. As times have change the nasty stoner stigmas really went with um in it feels good. I'm not a bad dude cuz I fire it up n don't got the back my head shaved high n tight.......and most people nowadays that ya run into are very reassured when they know you are "just" a smoker n someone they can count on. I would love to live to see a day when MJ prohibition ends world wide though cuz theres a whole lot of good people n jails n a whole lot a families suffering just over WEED WARS....in thats real sad.

I found out recently that 2 of the 3 folks living next door to me (and downwind) are also cardholders.... so yeah... FATTIES on the deck are no problem here as well.... :D Not that I care...but hey....it's always better to not be rude about it...and to respect that not everyone likes the smell of weed wafting right through their house....LOL.

Fortunately I don't hear of too many "hard working" cops around here. IMO they don't make piss for the hassle n drama the go through as our zoo keepers. Perhaps a rookie is all gung ho now n then but heck these days even most them are on the fence about MMJ n could care less especially once a redcards presented. Technically it becomes a medical issue at that point sorta n possibly an avenue for all sorts of legal n political drama they don't need n even understand as fast as MMJ regs change. Most police men are just trying to do their jobs I'd hope n most are tickled by a little bit of everyday respect n ackknowledgement they are TRYIN to do the right thing. ya gotta try to believe in that some if theres any hope for America.
With all the other drama an average cop sees for the wage I'd imagine most just wanna go relax n burn one themselves after work brother.

I don't see it as "lazy"...'cus I know these cops and they are damn busy around here with all of the stupid shit the tourist do....LOL.

I see it more that the cops can tell what yer up to...plant counts or not....just like anyone else who knows anything about weed can see if they peek at the differences between certain gardens....

What I mean is that 6 trees with a pound+ a peice in a UC under 10K of light is gonna call more suspect to your "medical" inroads to all of this than 12 plants 18"tall in a small plastic greenhouse that look kinda shabby in 2 gal pots that may have a 1/2 oz at max on each of em.... which was the case @ the time with what I had goin' on.

It also couldn't have hurt any that my wife was doin' that wifey thing and blabing in their ear repeatedly about HIPPA violations and our right to medical privacy.....just in case....LOL> I was just FREAKING OUT that I was standing there with plants and weed and wasn't being arrested....LOL. I told the cops how surreal it was....and how hard it was to de=program from all of the years of being totally scared of them...

they told me they hated weed but were sworn to uphold the law....and I told em I hated the laws and had sworn to grow/smoke..... LOL I was honest and frank and answered any questions they posed....and by doing so it got a few laughs and some honesty to come out on both sides. I've had dealings with both cops since via my kids and they definitely remembered me....LOL.... but beyond that....no hassles/etc. have arisen. they KNOW it goes nowhere...and that there is no CAUSE to return.....(unless yer a dumbass/treat themlike they are dumbasses)

I was served a restraining order back in Feb. The 2 Denver Sheriffs saw the light peaking from under the hall closet and heard the exhaust/intake fans running. When the deputy reached over and opened the door and saw the 4 vegging plants inside I asked if he would like to see my paper work. He said he ALREADY served me my paper work. I then clarified and asked if he wanted to see my card--he said no.

A couple days later I returned w 2 Denver city cops. It was necessary for me to have an escort to remove ANYTHING from the apartment. As we approached, I informed them I was a patient and that I was going to be removing plants from the apartment, but assured them I was a card holder and it was a legal grow. The one cop asked me if I was over 15 plants--I responded 3 flowering and 4 vegging. She literally laughed. When I pulled started clearing the flower room she came over and gave the Lambsbreath a squeeze and said that it was what she must have smelled down the hall. I asked if I could remove the living plants since cutting down would put me over 2oz. They said they didnt care what I did. When I offered my card they said they didnt need to see it. Im from a place this would be a felony, so I was paranoid enough to not chop and just remove the plants. The 2 Denver cops helped me load up a flat bottom dolly and wheeled all 7 out to my truck, loaded em up, and I drove off into the sunset. You shouldve seen the looks I got driving down Alameda with 3 plants (52 days in) chilling in the bed of my pickup.

FYI the Denver Sheriffs have ZERO power to police. The Sheriffs can only serve you & evict you.

But the red card database is being linked to law enforcement July 1st. And with the Beinor & Watkins ruling, the red card really isn't much better than the recommendation. It all depends on the police visiting you and the DA.

This linking thing worries me. The worst part is that after you let your card expire, the CDPHE still keeps your file in their records. So if you have a child, apply for a job/apartment etc, have run ins with police, your Redcard status may be flagged and walah, probable cause to harass you. Just wait til the DUID bill rears its head again. "Oh you have a red card, come with me for a blood test."

Try only growing 2 zips across 3 plants. You'd literally have to fuck up to hit numbers so low. The laws are silly.

i hit 4zips on a single plant in a 2gl pot without even trying and had nothing but probs such as bad tap water an ph issues.. so for him to say its "hard n not practical to even grow your own meds with 6 plants" is total bullshit! im done here this guys a fukn toolbag
