Redneck ac? In a grow tent?

I can also set up how fast it goes on steps depending on how big and fast a change comes.

Perfect example; Dryer goes on and heat is filtered into basement. Humidity goes way up. Intake sucks this in and probe sets off fan.

Rather than go full blast on to 10 I have it max out at either 3 or 6 depending on time of year and number of plants. Then I have it only go to 1 if only a few % off. Or 6 if a wall of humidity comes through.

Itโ€™s really cool and quiet. My buddy sleeps in the grow room when he comes down. Likes it better than upstairs. And thatโ€™s with two 6โ€ setups in a 12โ€™x15โ€™(?) room. I was impressed for $175.

I honestly hadn't seen all the ac infinity stuff when I was setting up my tent so some of the stuff I'm using is just shit I made work.

My main controls are 2 wifi smart power strips. I can set parameters for each plug on the strip...like if plug 1 is on plug 2 is off...plug 5 is my light it's on 5am to 11pm light schedule set thru the strip as well...it pretty much controls alot of what is turning on and off...

Got my exhaust fan on an intermittent timer bc a humidity controller for running exhaust didn't feel right for me because if humidity levels out then exhaust never circulates air...it works out well....heater is hooked to a thermostat controller with a rather tight heat range of +/- 1ยฐ

I think I just could really use a humidity controller to run my humidifier and dehumidifier and really dial them in better than their 10% ranges

If I got to get a portable ac any recommendations? my space is 5x5x6.5ft so like 150 cubic ft
GNick had a good one he found and posted. Others like the ACI my portable a/c does humidity too but havenโ€™t needed yet. ๐Ÿคž

I was MacGyverโ€™ing everything but the lights. Then I got tents. Etc. Then I got backups JIC. Now I have two setup and no backups but buy local gear when on sale. MacGyver until next sale. ๐Ÿคฃ

420 is a good time for sales. I know last year there were buy one get one or 50% off deals on a lot of seeds and equipment sales.....If you've any purchases that can wait a 2 weeks it may be worth the wait.....I'm looking at getting some seeds then maybe a clip on fan or 2....

I just set mine up from the controller itself.
I turned low temp and low humidity off because if its low, my room is low so it just makes things drier and colder.

I never use the app cause everything is all preset and it just works.
App is easier on the eyes, for me. And yes I know how to brighten the screen G$ ๐Ÿ˜

Itโ€™s also easier to figure out how to program things. Like the starting, incremental, and top speeds. Like to do more with it. Just not today.

Plus I sleep on the top floor so alarm or a quick check saves me stairs! ๐Ÿคฃ

Shit. Just got more stuff for the clones and two oscillating fans. Oh well.

Now that I know we have our own Black Friday Iโ€™ll remember that. ๐Ÿคฃ

Thank you!๐Ÿ‘

I like AC Infinity gear although as of late their new Controller 69 Pro is a little buggy. They need to do a firmware update and clear out those issues.

The Controller 67 I have works great and I've had zero issues with it. Right now the controller controls my fan but as soon as my humidifier gets here that'll be one less thing I need to manually adjust. As much as I love the 67's reliability it only allows 2 devices to connect to it so if I want to control the lights through the controller I'd have to step up to the 69. So far the 2 that the 67 will be controlling is all I really need at this point as I have lights on a separate digital timer so it works fine.

I might try and swing by their warehouse the next time I'm in California.

If you swing by find out what happened to the 67 power dongles. Turns one port into two. That would solve my future proofing. Donโ€™t need wifi.

Hmmmm....maybe I'll set up a thread a week or two before I leave and whatever questions everyone on the board has can be asked and I can show it to them and try and get some sort of answer?

What I really want to see is who is their design team? They started out as an HVAC company and branched off into grower products. How did that happen? Who thought this would be a good idea? What are there plans in the future in regards to helping us grow better?

So my grow tent is heating up and now I'm thinking of cooling options. Before I had my son, I had a gaming room with all sorts of gaming consoles and pc, and of course my weed stash dab pipes etc....well those ps4s and shit would run pretty hot and then getting out the torch...you're sweating. Well I made one of those redneck ac deals which was just a fan that blew into a Styrofoam cooler that I would put a frozen gallon jug of water in....then I had of course an exhaust pipe to blow the cool air my way.

Anyone ever try this with a grow tent? I don't think I'll need a whole lot of help since I'm in a basement so it's naturally "cooler" and I don't have an option to pipe in any ac.

What I do have is an intake fan going into my tent to help out my exhaust fan. I was thinking about maybe just building a foam box by the intake inlet that I can put my intake hose into.. then throw in a frozen jug of water and blow out the other side....nothing to restricting maybe just straight across the top of the jug and out so it don't cut my intake flow down a whole lot?

Any thoughts before I potentially waste 30 or 40 bucks I can't really afford to waste at the moment?
Think mini radiant floor cooling. Using either pecs or a couple of garden hoses. I am currently using that setup.

I must know
It's the same idea as the old bathroom floor heaters where they ran tubing in a grid pattern underneath the floor and ran hot water through the tubing to warm the floor except your running cold water instead of hot water to cool the tent.

Bought a humidifier at one of the local second hands. It's an $80 humidifier that I got for $6. Works flawlessly.

I ordered another from AC Infinity. As much as I like my bargain humidifier, I want one that I don't have to manually turn on and off when it goes out of range.

That's being smart. F an a.c. I'd care more about v.p.d. and some rednecks like cheap window units retrofitted, portables aren't ideal. Mini splits often fail. Learning to grow without an a.c. is wiser. Circulation is key, constant and as others stated controlling the lung room is the 1st step. Often darkening windows will help keep things cool and less light leak mid flower to lady plants at the cost of gloominess, but well worth it.

T-ladies, autocorrect. You know day 30 balls on a bitch.

Do it up North to heat entire floors now. Cousin that just passed had her entire main floor that way.

Momโ€™s sun room is 20x30 and done that way. Company had to replace floor tiles after a year as they shrunk.

I understand the concept just interested to see one if these floor cooling deals in a tent to get a better idea... lots of different ways on Google so which is most practical?

My point was that it went from โ€œnewโ€ idea up here to a lot more common than Iโ€™d thought.

Before that it was just the same stuff they used on under ground parking ramps and the like. Pyrotech...something or other. Basically hot wires in a copper pipe. ๐Ÿ˜

I would but I'm kind of weird about what I bring into my tent, dust, mold, and many other things that could be hidden in old appliances makes me paranoid

My brother had a used ps4 he bought and it needed some repair I opened it and it was full of dead roaches ๐Ÿคฎ
He should have felt good about that, I mean they could have been alive. You do make a very good point though, I wouldn't sweat electronics but stuff made of wood and the like could have bed bugs. I got bed bugs in a room in my house from an exterminator making a monthly visit.

Do you have an example of one used in a grow room? I'm not sure how much cooling effect a radiant floor would have versus 700 watts of power.
