Don't forget that, while they have the right to go through your bags, somehow they're not responsible for anything that goes missing. I *always* find one of their love notes in my bag from one leg or the other of my trip, and more than once, have had items come up missing.

This is their response to not being allowed to x-ray us.

I have had them take a lighter and leave a love note, but they left my joints alone

what have you had come up missing SM?

it seems like they really dont want people to fly anymore, between charging for your luggage and every other fucking thing they can think of and all the hassles

maybe they are just testing the sheep, to see how far they can push

I used to fly alot, now if its within a days drive I dont even think about flying

I have long been told of a time where people thought of flying as an ultra luxury. The airline industry used to kiss your ass because YOU were a customer. Something that has long been forgotten. Like banks, they think THEY are the ass you should be kissing.
People used to get dressed in their "sundays best" just to fly. Such a loss of respect for both consumer and industry.

They are a business in trouble trying to reap anything they can to make money.

I think we all took the days when flight was smooth.

wow, same thing happened to me seamaiden

PS Stop flying. lol
and 9/11 was an inside job too

I'm not ready to stop flying. There is NO WAY I will take a boat all the way to Indonesia for instance, even if I am already on the west coast.

I knew this was retribution for the x-ray thing.

Usually it's underwear and shoes, sometimes the pantyhose have been taken. It's been like this since the first time I flew after 9/11 (October of that year). It's almost always personal items. I thank GOD they've never taken a bra, because those are hard to find and I would truly be screwed if that happened.

I don't buy for a minute that 9/11 was an inside job, but then again, I've been raised a little differently than most other people.

A long time ago, the boat used to be pretty awesome! I know what you mean though. A full going ocean liner taking 2 weeks to cross the Pacific is not my idea of fun.

Thats terrible that a lot of you have found missing items in your luggage. What did the airline industry have to say about that?
It would be awful to get somewhere and find that your personal garments are not there and it's impossible to find a new one. It seems like a lot of time to do so, but since hearing of your missing stuff, I might make a tally of what is in my suitcase next time I go somewhere on a long trip.
I have read that there are many companies that have started up in the past 2 years that shit your bags for either the same price or cheaper then the extra fees associated with the airlines.
When it works out, I have had friends shit their bags via UPS. It cost them an extra $15 but they had 100% full insurance coverage which, if your carrying jewelry expensive cloths ect... may be worth it.

wow SM sounds more like pervs going through your stuff - what basis do they have for taking your underoos?

just another infringement on our civil liberties thank you patriot act 1 and 2 and thank you president barry sotera for extending what president baby bush put into effect

:( I like to buy new for a trip? Once a pair of high heels were stolen (that was the first post-9/11 trip) along with nylons and the underwear. I was so mad I wrote to my congressman.

thats some fucked up shit right there

yeah they got one of those body scanners at Richmond International Airport (RIA)...they are touting the effectiveness of these scanners because at RIA they found one DUMBASS with a knife hidden underneath his clothes in the small of his back using the scanner...

Now- shouldnt the metal detector have caught that? And number two...what a dipshit...lol

I fly through RIA monthly. I will always opt for the pat down since i do not know the technology the scanners use (well sort of) but i prefer to be a HUGE pain in the ass to the TSA :mooning
...and if you want your pat down to go swiftly along....just grind back a little...freaks em out methinks..:giggle

I've never had my bud taken out of my luggage..luckily. Now I just crotch it,too. If they dare touch me there..I will sue the fuck out of them. lol

They're not saying that they're going to pat down all passengers, but all are subject to this type of search.

Maybe ocean liners will be making a comeback. Naw, not with pirates on the high seas.
