So I made up my own batch of soil promix/coco/peralite/wormcastings and build a soil craft blend to start i made up 2 30 gallon totes let cook for a month and planted 5 5 gallon pots with autos grew out there 4 months while the other batch sat ( topdressed 1x in veg 1 at trasition and once in flower) when they were done I put all the soil and root mass back in tote broke up watered added some all purpose 444 and some bokashi and let sit for 3 months while next batch was growing ...rince and repeat is anyone else doing something similar any issues you have run into or forsee me running into ...have been switching to photos same concept just added 2 more totes so I always have soil cooking while the other is growing am I preserving my microbe content or do I need to replenish that as well

well you can always re-inoculate the soil with somes microbes, myco and else when starting a grow. many products available on the market depending your location.

( things like bactrex and mycotrex from biotabs if your in the eu. )

Yea I use myco when starting new and recharge occasionally throughout grow guess I'm asking if this if sustainable or am I gonna have the decomposing roots build up

here's an article you might find usefull with all the what and what not to do:

more articles about reusing soil and eventually breaking down roots:

The thing about living soil when storing is to make sure to give it air. You want the microbes that are aerobic. Keeping your stored soil moist and circulated will allow the microbe herd to do its thing. Even if the herd had died down, when you use mychos to sow your seeds, you just resupplied your pot.

I pull the old roots out the best I can, add some dry fertiliser, mix it in well, pot the new plant up and flower it off, do I need to replace the soil?
Been doing this for years, often add some pelite/ sand etc.

I Thought it was like veg patch in the back garden add some dry fertiliser etc.

Been doing ROLS a long time and 50%+ is used growing mix in every batch. I add dry nutrients and mostly replace SPM and composts as my mix is pretty gravelly at chop.

I think you will be ok either way. The microbes will lay dormant. They won’t really take off till they are working symbiotic with the roots. In the future use pumice for aeration. It will stay put a little better. The perlite is so lite it will migrate up.
