Reverse Osmosis 101

Thanks to everyone for the interest and help.

We just got a reverse osmosis filter (specifically hydrologic stealth 200) and we are particularly concerned with adding calmag to restore the water.

We are running ebb and flow system with reservoirs and are just now setting up the system and will add 5ml per gallon initially.

From what I know: (I think anyway LOL!)

Add 5ml calmag plus per gallon to restore calcium, magnesium and iron​

1. Is this straight across the board, meaning that we add this amount to ALL RO water that we add to top off the reservoirs, etc?
2. Do we add the same amount (5ml/gal) all the time?
3. Is this like a rule of thumb to go by and must do for all RO water?

Is there anything else we (everyone) should know about using RO water?

if you want to keep it very basic you are safe running 5ml all the time

most things that are nute whores will appreciate the extra calmag early in their lives, but you have to get that stuff outa there before harvesting as well
here is what i do with mine

10ml/g weeks 1-6 flower
5ml/g weeks 7
2.5 ml/g week 8

if you have a strain that really doesnt like high ppms your better off keeping it low

So would it be safe to say that anytime we add RO water we should add 5ml/g calmag to that water then?

That also sounds good for flowering but what about vegging?
(we're just before putting them on the trays)

yep pretty much anytime, take it easy on seedlings tho
ive never have a calmag over/underfeed problem using 10ml/g except when my ph was off
week one and two of veg you might wana use 2.5 just to be safe, but if your ppms are low im sure it wouldnt be to much of a problem to use a lil more
