And or cheaper routes because I'm 37 years old and it's hard packing 10 gallons of water every day

Try a Boogie Blue Plus inline filter. Depending on the application you’re using it for it is a good alternative.

I add d a small ro at my kitchen sink. I thing the whole setup was 150 bucks and it easy to install. I only use it for my humidifiers now.

I have RO for 2 reasons, humidifier life and I do hydro so I want a clean starting slate.

same here but be careful of ph fluctuations. Most folks end up adding back in tap water in varied amounts back into the system for the buffers.

There's whether it's worth it and whether it's needed. If the TDS of your tap is low (<100 ppm) and/or you have your water tested and the results are benign, I wouldn't bother with it. If you need filtered water, I think it's worth it to get a filter, just to avoid buying and lugging bottles around.
