old thread but any updates on this info? i have a few suggestions but i don't want to speak out of line, being a new poster and all.

The video on how to make a small batch of RSO with Everclear is a bit long winded, but good. I think her breasts are costars in this presentation and sure help to keep interest during the slow spots.

I make RSO with Everclear and use a counter top still to recover about 75% of the alcohol. My yield has been about 6 grams for an ounce of buds or high quality trim. The trim results in a bit more green and the effect seems to be the same. I am happy to see more people using this ethanol-Everclear method because of the dangers with using petrol-based solvents, both in the making of the oil (fire and explosion) and the possibility of ingesting residual solvent.

Here are a few pictures of the method that I use. This is a combination of the ideas of several people, so as much as I'd love to take credit, really this is just one interpretation of many other peoples' ideas.

A couple things I learned from this. Mix the booze with the buds in a mason jar, freeze, shake 3 minutes, freeze again, repeat until you have shaken it 3 times. Pour through a screen and do it again. Washing the herb at least 2 times and better yet, 3 times. The herb can be used for budder after this, I did it once and made some very strong cookies. After reducing the liquid in the still it gets further cooked down on a coffee warmer, then add coconut oil, I use a 5:1 ratio of coconut to RSO to achieve a 100mg approximate dose in a size 0 capsule. I also add a little soy lecithin to keep the mixture well mixed. This mixture goes into the oven at 248 degrees F for about 20-30 minutes. You can watch it convert-activate the THC and CBD (decarboxylate), indicated by bubbling, and when the bubbling stops, remove it from the oven. There are charts and lots of online discussions about this step's details, but for sure you need to decarb your oil for it to be effective. I use gel caps and fill with a syringe, then freeze them. I also make 50mg - 300mg doses. I think it might be a good thread to start with this process so others can help to improve it.

As far as my treatment and the effectiveness of the oil, well, I am still alive and tumor-free after almost 2 years of using the oil. I cannot say with certainty that the oil is what is keeping the tumor away, but I believe that it is helping. i have found that when taking the oil I tend to feel more like getting exercise, specifically with some free weights that were collecting dust. I also get out and walk a lot. My blood pressure is down, blood sugar improved, cholesterol down and the 'special time' with my wife is better. Overall, the oil is helping to improve my quality of life. I vary dosage and like to smoke a little too, but typically will take 100mg after dinner, and a couple times a week a few puffs from a vape, and on weekends a joint.

Here in Colorado we now have legal marijuana. It is hard to understand why it was illegal in the first place. It is an important herbal supplement and is medically relevant, in addition being a source of recreation. Tell your elected representatives to end prohibition.

Yup, My Dad was diagnosed with lung Cancer last week and so we ended up making him some Canna Caps using organic unrefined coconut oil as well.

The darker ones were for me :)

Looks like shatter, are you eating BHO? I went with the Everclear method to make oil out of fear of incompletely purged oil made with other solvents, basically a fear of the unknown. Happy with my results so far, using 100-200mg of oil a day and have started making caps with some added goodies, stuff that may help with preventing/curing cancer, Manuka honey, Ceylon cinnamon and Black Seed Oil. Also, I am working on a tutorial for people who have not made oil and cannot do the rice cooker method with naptha that Rick Simpson demonstrates. I think this alcohol method is fine and, because I use a still, is economical as about 75% of the Everclear is recovered. Good luck with the lung cancer, he should probably take a big dose daily, there is a new book from RS that is advertized to include dosing specifics.

Hi there 420Circuit… Yes, the Caps I made for my father was made with De-carboxilated Shatter which was winterized with Ethanol.

I'm planning on making a batch with 190 proof everclear what type of condenser are you using the one for water of the one for making essential oils?

The counter top still was purchased from a company that sells stills intended for use in making moonshine and related, so may be modified to run at a lower temp. The MegaHome unit is for made for water, but this has worked fine with Everclear. Just be aware that the sale is reported to the U.S. Treasury Dept. so you will get a warning letter from them, so you may want to purchase locally with cash.
