Right I'm not saying your wrong(well I guess I was lmao) but I take it with a grain of salt the shit I read...seen alot of people say tho it looked like an xmas tree...

That's another thing...so many cure methods and growers...someone else's very well could have looked different than yours

I wanna try it and know I'm trying it for sure....I feel like I've probably had it just didn't know the name...I used to get a lot of strains called "dank" lmao

I have smoked strains in the past that smelled very much like a pine tree however I don't think any of it was the real Christmas buds that was slightly before my time. I would love to try it sometime and try to grow it. Heard lots of old heads talk about it definitely sounds like a nice cultivar.

First time, as I remember from back in the day, all the RKS and pine bud we were getting back in the 80s was grown outdoors here in oregun. It was only available at the end of the summer and was gone within a couple months

Here are 5 balkh afganis. Kalifa genetics seems to have the pure. She is giving different phenos from a 10 pack. And number 2 is LOUD! Looks like the stalky one doesn't like much nutrients. She is clawing a little. Love how these landraces show very different structure. Lost my columbian golds, but have a trade for the 20 weeker. The OLDSCHOOL. I'm not in the biz, so got no prob flowering a girl for 6 months. Especially if I know the reason is to create, the possibility of being the next skunk?! DOODIS!!

Nice man! I like how you poked all the extra holes in the solo cup also. I always have issues with root rot in anything plastic I do the exact same thing with my solo cups as well. After solo cups I go straight into fabric to avoid that. It's soooooo easy to accidentally water when you'r in plastic. I learned the hard way many times.

Used a wood burner to make to holes. They are s.i.p.s. I water the tray and they drink from the bottom up. Got the design from the octopot system. Makes watering much easier, and they learn to search for water when they go outside. Am near a river so it's a no water garden. They reach down and find the water themselves. If I take clones from others, and put them in garden, I have to water them for a few days before they find water. Lol

Hey boogie did you ever end up growing out any of the akbb stuff?

Listening to the potcast he did today had me inspired to go back and look at his stuff. One thing that had me grin is he said something I agree with, that "super skunk" can throw some real skunk ass phenos....not
skunk #1...and it made me consider how many people could be just getting them confused skunk#1 and super skunk. Also made me consider if like pre 90s super skunk was the true and maybe something offered now is watered down.

I know an old head in the 90s tho that grew super skunk and there was nothing fruity about it...super skunk #7 he called it...sure it was just some pheno he hunted back in the day

Anyway really interested in some of the skunks akbb has and that Hawaiian catpiss....

I first came across this branch of the "Ester Family Tree" around 98 or 99.
2001, I decided to go "Skunk Hunting" and here we are.
Hint)Normally, you have 2 different plants, 1 short plant and 1 taller plant, right?
I'm finding most desired traits in the taller, lighter colored plants.
I feel there was a different "lean" focused on these specific traits, and were kept in regular stock because it had become 'undesirable".
People wanted no smell weed and guess what, you got weed with no smell or taste floating all over the place and us old people that were there and experienced the early 80's ester gassing plants are like,
where's the smell?
It all gassed off when it hit 80 degrees in the grow room. lol

Yes that is csi Christmas bud,
100% RKS is from Todd McCormick,
His claims of RKS are far from truthful for these seeds to be called RKS.
Over the last 3 summers I have popped his beans claiming to be “RKS” all have been far from being even close to skunk.
But we have them and we will try again:)

You are doing the true hero work tho man...I find myself always popping 2 or 3 beans of all sorts of different shit...I want to do a pheno hunt to a larger extent eventually. Trying to understand the levels and how many phenos different ones may throw? Idk I know seeds can be stabilized but then I hear things like skunk #1 threw the og uk exodus cheese out...and I wonder...if cheese is a skunk1 pheno...has anyone else found it in skunk1...I've looked but found no answer. Some say it's just that legendary pheno of it...is it like a 1 in a million odds? Are more stabilized strains not going to have that possibility and instead just have a few phenos?

Anyway, I'm gonna get me some of those 79xmas seeds eventually that shit intrigues me.

I'd like to run through some super skunk seeds much the same...that's where I knew some sour skunk shit was...I just don't know the pheno game and how it'd be on a strain like that....any clue?

I had afgoo back in the early 2000s shit was flame thrower....guess that's about 25 years old...damn...dynasty genetics sells beans of it as afgoo...is afgooy different? I remember blue magoo too! I hope it pops for ya boss that's a treat!

Sorry for the delayed reply I was in Vegas and oddly the wifi was spotty in our room. I agree that perhaps it's a better idea to hunt some old Super Skunk instead of Skunk #1. I have heard many dispute that Super Skunk was fruity and Skunk #1 is better however based on my observations nobody has found the real deal in the Skunk #1 so what the hell might as well try hunting that Super Skunk. I just got hooked up with a cross that has the original Super Skunk as one of the parents.

As for the AKBB I haven't ran any of his gear yet however I have heard great things about it. I have my eye on his Hawaiian Catpiss its supposed to have some really funky and borderline offensive tones in there. I have also heard great things about texas Shoreline apparently the real cut of that from back in the day was a RKS contender it was apparently total fire . I bought a handful of strains from Shoreline genetics including Crippy, Sour D, Texas Roadkill, and Shorline. Haven't ran them yet but I still got them.

Dude honestly that's hilarious i wanted those 4 as well from shoreline, actually was offered their ohio death star in clone but I ain't really ready for it so had to wait.. Fuckin aye man...dude I also want the catpiss as well from akbb, perhaps the Americana x super skunk and a few others.....

May I propose....I order some strains such as Hawaiian catpiss, Americana x skunk...some a couple others that seem agreeable and maybe do a seed swap with ya boss?

Split the packs to have a little stab at each? I'd prolly be game in the next couple months...I could order beans post pics when I get em and go from there...

Hell yeah man Im down for sure if you wanna trade just PM me. Most of the Shoreline packs I have are still unopened however I did pop around 3 of the Crippy's and they were looking great in my previous grow but that was the grow that ended up gettin spider mites really bad and I had to chop everything. However I still got plenty more seeds. I have a ton of genetics I went out of control and spent way too much money within recent years lol. I realistically have a few dozen strains I have procured however I haven't had the space or the time to run them all. Most are Skunk pheno hunt strains however I do have some other exotic stuff mixed in as well. Ive been sitting on the real Molokai Frost from GoodGear who has been posting on this thread. I also have some real columbian. I think Im gonna start a late season outdoor run this year. Gonna germinate after 4th of July and let the Sativa dominant Molokai and Columbian push all the way into Christmas I think its the only way to do them cuz if I pop them in the spring they will get over 10ft tall in my climate zone. I've found through experience that you can get a great late harvest with Sativa strains if you start them after the summer solstice. Our winters don't freeze here by the beach so the plants to quite well.
