why not just use plastic sheeting to create a clean space just coat all walls and ceiling.
as for mites? hotshot no pest strips kill em dead quicker than shit and are safe to use.

Read the label. It says not to be placed anywhere that a person or pet will be for more than 4 hours a day. One strip treats an area like a 10x13 room with an 8 foot ceiling. OK for attic, garage, shed, but not living spaces...

I think Op asked a year ago about other bug bombs other than Dr. Doom and there is Pylon TR foggers that are listed for the use of killing broad mites. So including what everyone else said if you want to add a wee bit of protection against Broads throwing in a couple Pylon TR foggers during your room cleanout could be beneficial as well.
