Just to add, tap water is ph 7.0, after adding nutes ph is 7.0.. the runoff (which seems to be fine) ph was 8.2, is that sufficient for a few days to cause ph flux? What are you growing in?
Here ya go... and the hydroton on the bottom is not a good idea. Read these 2 links. So the white stuff u see on top is a layer of protection/prevention for Fungas Gnats that sits on top of the grow medium.
My grow medium is a Cyco Coco perlite blend which contains clay balls (hydroton) i also put hydroton in the bottom pot (outter pot) and at the bottom of the smart bag i used some to give proper drainage.
I have pH down and im literally about to go adjust pH now do feed cycle and test the run off of the pH.
I do not have a device to test Ppm and never bothered with it.
Im not understanding how pH flux works or is it that my range is locking nutes out?
Keep ph 5.6-5 8 and increase feed frequency this will help stabilize the ph.I hate pHing man its such a head case!
My run off is still 8.2?
I might get it to run straight into cup, there could be old nute build up in the catchers. Ill test from a cleaner source and go again
It may be the De-Gnat agent thats making the pH change.
I placed some in a cup of water and tested from 7 she went to 7.9 so it has some effect. Is it safe with these kinds of fluctuations to keep my res at pH of 5?
That's air flow partially.... see the damaged leaves are touching the container?Todays improvement is disappointing :(
Any ideas am i still running with ph Flux? I walked in today to give a feed and seen this new yellowing
