Hi

I am getting older and i want to streamline my garden product. But what i do not want is an edible. I have a MGBM2 and it is the bee knees for edibles.

What i want is to use one of those wax pens or what have you with something i make myself.

But i want no fire hazard.

A rosin press is very interesting. Is it the same idea? I would think you could make edibles after you are done pressing (with the leftover). I can get a set it and press it my size for around 300 bucks.

Or I can get this kit i saw that makes it like oil. it is 200 bucks and you use a food grade alcohol etc. In Canada we can get 150 proof highest...which makes me think rosin.

But I am an absolute newb about this. I just want to load a pen with 2 hit i feel it stuff and hit it again. And not pay the man. Bumper crop coming

I have a dulytek rosin press that I bought for around $300. It allows me to extract resin and mix it with propolene glycol at about 160 degrees using the double boiler technique and inject it into CCELL brand carts (don’t get the cheap knock offs as those leak) and use it as I would a normal ecig. I have the palm sized CCELL battery as well.

I highly recommend this method but I’m sure you can use whatever rosin press fits your budget and use a wax pen that doesn’t require mixing it with PG. So many options are available and I’m sure they all work well.

I alsdo own the Dulytech 3x5 manual press..It is super, and You don't want a cheapo (they really are not cheap either)..The Dulytech is all steel and has amazing electronics..I only press for myself and The Dulytech does 1/8th ozeasily (pre-press 1st.) It is a small unit and only puts out about 1000lbs of pressure (A huge spring deal).
Expect anywhere between a 10-30% yield..depending on material, press settings etc.

There are a few of us at the Farm that have these presses..Any questions..ask away..!
(for $400 clams..you will not beat it..TRUTH!)

The color is really a golden color, but the rosin is over 3/8th thick in the photo, and it looks dark..I love the stuff..:)

Check into the refurbished units on eBay. That’s where I got mine. I offered $300 and I think we settled on $330 shipped.

I pressed some gorilla glue and it turned out golden yellow. Was very impressed with the quality of the end product.

I put in a best offer on one. If it doesn't work out i will bide my time. I don't need it for about 8 to 10 weeks now and the train wreck and jack i have now will coast me through until then.

:)

yes..That's the seller I got mine from..He wouldn't deal on a new one (no used in stock at that time), but he did throw in 2 pks of bags (not great bags)..

I gave it a nice review..He thanked me by sending the Dulytech tool kit, a dab mat, free and remember..that thing is heavy and the price includes fgt..

OH, and that box it comes in..Heavy Duty and could be re-used easily if you wanted to re-ship the press (sell, or otherwise)

One thing I have found..Over-hydrating the buds will usually make them press better..yields and all.

My buds are stored with Boveda 62's. I take some bud; put it in a mason jar; wet a paper towel and put in the mason jar CAP (not letting it touch the weed); and lay it on its side for a few hrs. I like it when the weed actually feels squishy damp like..presses better for me.
Note: even though my flower supply is more than enough for pressing..I almost always press each flower puck twice.

Also..I think your leafy stuff will be ok..just consider bags if they are a real mess.

Congrats. Welcome to the club :-)

I save my pucks and press them together to get even more rosin out of them. You can mix strains to produce some interesting results.

I have a magical butter machine. the pucks will go into edibles after so it really is the best of all worlds. I have a jar of roaches (well half doobs really). I hate the taste of a relit doob so it is pretty wasteful really. And you dont want to make ashtray flavored edibles.

Rosin and the MGBM will allow me to capture almost 100% of the grow in 1 of 2 forms i like. :D

It will be here Tuesday or Wednesday.

:)

Now i need a rig.

Never pressed roaches (in fact I haven't rolled a J in yrs), but I imagine if they yield anything..it would taste horrible?

I just mean it is so wasteful. Pressing flowers to get rosin means no roaches :D

I am going to throw them in the fire when it gets cooler.
