Nine months ago I started using RSO. The medical outcome of using RSO every day has been pretty much miraculous. Thread here: https://www.thcfarmer.com/community...-fibromyalgia-parkensens-and-on-and-on.83906/
When I first started I had to power through feeling a little goofy but never completely felt blown away. Not that I object to a little relaxing effects or otherwise but I have to work. Strong Sativas make me sleepy just like Indicas and I cant even tell the difference. Once I got used to the RSO I have not felt high or sedated from it til recently. Recently I noticed some varying effects and I am still not sure but sometimes every so often I get a much more noticable effect. I weigh my RSO out with a micro scale that is zeroed with an empty gelcap so I know how many milligrams I am dispensing.
So, this morning I had my normal dose from a consistant batch I have had for some time and I get pretty blown away. The only difference is I had some peanut butter right after taking my meds and I don't normally do that. I am taking oil twice a day at about 150mg total per day.
Here is what I am wondering:
1. Does comsuming certain fat containing foods make the absorbtion and overall effect more pronounced? To get the full benefit of the oil should I be taking the RSO with fats?
2. How do experienced oil users get consistant dosing and consistant outcomes?
My RSO was made with 95 proof Everclear with Mango buds and I have a batch of Godberry bud that seems very similar. Both varities tested at about 18-19% THC before they were converted to RSO.
Thanks All,
DP
digesting fats and lipids are much different than smoking them. everclear is safer than isopropyl for ingesting as far as any residuals left behind. . proper decarb will not leave any alcohol behind especially everclear.
I use a spirit distiller and decarb in a hot oil bath using an induction cooktop. Amount of chlorophyll is determined by how cold the alcohol, material, and how long the alcohol is in contact with the solvent.

If thats what you like thats what's yoy like.I love qwet for smoking! But for RSO whole plant extraction even juicing buds makes perfect sense to me
Yep, the RSO that was made had been winterized and filtered cold made using 95 proof Everclear. I have considered having RSO made with other solvents and beleive me the QWISO sounds very versatile but I may have to look around for someone I can trust to do the RSO for me. We have some good aspects of our legalized cannabis regulations and there are some really bad aspects. Even though it has been legal for a very short time the regulations have been growing exponentially. Here in Oregon it is illegal to make RSO unless you are an approved processor and have a $100,000 explosion proof room. So, finding someone to make small batches of RSO that are trustworthy is tricky. I find it so offensive that you can't make your own medicine with good ol grain alchohol. If I remember right it is upwards of 300,000 fine and up to 20 years in jail.
Given the way people have started fires and explosions with butane I can see some of the logic behind the extraction regs, but come on, if making grain alcohol RSO is a crime it should also be illegal to do your own flambe in the kitchen, on a cooking show or even in a public resturaunt! If you smoke while refueling your car, my God that should be a life sentence, right? Fricken nanny state.......

I definitely hear what you are saying for sure bro. But Iso usually contains bitters, those once in the oil don't purge like alcohol. That's the main difference for edibles..food grade and not food grade alcohol. I wonder if the 99% special order ISO is bitters free?My problem with Everclear as a Solvent is that the yield is 12-13%.
With 99% isopropyl my yield is 17.2-24.5% about tge same as BHO.
If yoy want to throw 40-50% of tgee medicine away be my guest
Rick Simpson made his medicine with Namptha.I definitely hear what you are saying for sure bro. But Iso usually contains bitters, those once in the oil don't purge like alcohol. Yes, my understanding is he had some special pure form of naptha that is no longer available or maybe just not to us in the US. However, naptha is a carcinogine and it makes little sense to me to use it when everclear is non-toxic.
If I found someone to make it and he/she had a vacuum system it might be ok but trusting someone to do it right is the problem.
