did a quick experiment on how much water medium was holding. this is just eyed up if its worth mesurering exactly i will

using a sixteen ounce cup filled half way up and watered my three girls.
gave it about 5 minutes or so then poured run off back into cup. i would say on the eye i got about 85 to 90% back when poured draining tray back into cup. is this an acceptable amount.

Really still does depend on personal preference and system/mediums but usually anywhere from no-runoff to 30% runoff works depending on above variables.
