Woke up today and this is what it looks like. Even bottom growth has perked up. I would put in new soil but I don’t want to buy soil unless I’m starting fresh. But I’m thinking the soil it was in it is fine, just needs to be mixed up. Thoughts?

Yeah I think you probably just weren't saturating properly from the get go so the middle was bone dry plus compact feom the attempted flush... Mix it up and let it sit in a few inches of water to absorb some, maybe mix it up again to make sure it's getting evenly moist.. don't compact it or push it down, just a few shakes or smacks on the floor or do it in the tub or shower... then water the plant in with water once you're satisfied with the soil. Or wash the soil if you are legitimately concerned there's too much nutes in it... because you didn't use enough water for a true flush... but mu guess was it was mostly related to watering practices... maybe lol.

New soil or bust ! You have just proven that the soil/nutes were the issue as originally stated by CannaGranny when you first asked for help… I certainly wouldn’t use the original soil Unless you are willing to flush the crap out of it and try again. Personally fresh soil would be the best/easiest but I know little… good luck

She also said that the 5 tbsp I added couldn’t have burned them, so it’s possible it wasn’t a nute issue. But That’s what I was thinking too. I’m just being cheap. You guys think I should even try to work with these plants?

of course try, if you got the room, if it don’t work or just seems to be not growing than trash them..
you got bag stands for air flow.. everything should be fine to use as is.. obviously for a week back off the light some..

What have you got to loose? The fact that they came back in water says it was without a doubt a watering issue... weather there was also a nute or lockout issue... well we don't know that for sure. Using new soil eliminates a few variables.

True, I can start over and wait just as long lol. Or give it a shot and potentially have them healthy again in a shorter time frame.

Alright, so I’ll be using ffof because of its availability and it’s cheap at my local store. They have promix, coast of Maine, fox farm coco coir and coco soil but all are more expensive and I need to research more on using coco before I go buying it.
Any suggestions on transplanting the plants in? When should I amend?…After recovery looks like it slows?

Yeah I got the room. I just didn’t want to start more plants and these end up going well and have time clashes with flower. I only have one 3x3 in my small ass room lol so if I started new plants I’d have to wait for them all to be ready for flower to flower

I read this thread last night and thought it was done when you pulled the plants. There's a lot of excellent advice given. Here are my two cents. Poor watering habits from the beginning lead to where you're at today. You are not the first and won't be the last to do this, so don't let it get you down. Very poor tidiness/spruceness in the grow tent is very unfortunate, and if this problem isn't addressed, it will cause you even more significant problems in the future.
Agriculture isn't easy! Sure, I've been lackadaisical throughout a grow, and still had a decent harvest. But, you will always get what you put into it. Also, don't feel like it was time lost, you learned something. Now, apply what you learned to your next grow.

Lil update. I gently loosened the soil at the base of the root ball (Pretty much scooped and gently shook until the compacted soil came out. Sprinkled with myko and put in 7 gal pot with new ocean forest bought today. Will see how it looks tomorrow after the lights off period.

Did you saturate that soil completely through?

I did not. It was pretty moist out the bag. I just sprayed about .5 liter of water in the area there was myko

Well, then you are gonna have the same issue. Theres a difference between saturated and "moist"

Get that thing a good friggen drink of water or its gonna look just like it did before.

At least a gallon. Nice and slow, give like 1/4 of that gallon and wait 5 mins or so and repeat those steps until water is gone.

Yes soil, fox farm in 5 gals. And because I had a nitrogen lockout, stunted growth, clawed tips, dark leaves, rusting leaves, etc. and everything was fine until a couple days ago, keep in mind I stopped flushing a while ago at this point already. and no I didn’t flush 10gal of water through the plants that’s just overkill, I watered until I got a good amount of run off and color of runoff began to lighten. I water when the soil becomes dry and container is light.

The 3 times the volume flush method is defiantly the correct way to flush most media. But it doesn't really apply to organic. Not like it does for "nitrate" media. With "Organic Media", or organic agriculture, it's a lot more difficult to alleviate those types of issues because of the fact that it's being immobilized by the root zones' ecology. Generally, you have to use things like potassium carbonate or activated charcoal to deal with that kind of toxicity, when trying to flush an organic media. Water alone it's enough to flush organic substrate. Organic can't easily leave the substrate, because the particles bond and get stuck to it. Flushing organic media with water only is like brushing your teeth with water and a brush. You need some type of aggregate.

I have read every post on this thread and no one gave the real reason the plant failed in Fox Farms' potting mix. In chemistry, there's a "chemistry law" due to physics that water always follows salt and never salt follows water. When you added plain water to the salty soil mix the suction of the discharging salt pulled the water out of the plant causing the plant leaves to cup under. If you would have not added excess plain water to the plant the plant would have kept its soil-to-plant water-to-salt ratio.

This post is making my head hurt, do you have a resource to back that up? The reason his plants failed is because he wasn't watering properly and the root zone was bone dry, evidenced by the pictures of bone dry roots and the fact that they came back to life when he put them in water. Are you suggesting we should never use plain water to water plants? I'm confused.
