Hey guys, I am new to the whole thing, but remember there are two sides to every coin. I am a recreational grower and it has not been easy to get that license. More than a year of constant work and every cent I have.
The main problems I see, which again, is from my very narrow view, is that the so called "medical" growers I have seen operate more like a profitable business, pay no taxes, and a small percentage of the weed goes to the members of the collective, who then also turn around and sell it.
Now, if it were the case that most businesses under the medical guise were legit for people with real problems who need it, then I am sure it would not have gotten to the point of where the legislation is currently at. Remember it only takes a few bad apples to ruin the bunch, and this is the case with most everything in life.
Most medicinal grow products end up on the black market in my experience. But again, I have a very limited view and I am sure there are plenty of legit operations out there.
I am certainly not trying to start a flame war, but in talking with the WSLCB they are trying to offer ways for people in the medicinal market to become legit and more regulated.
The government has never been great at lawmaking, mostly because it is run by money grubbing ego maniacs and the only things they care about is enriching their own lives and family whilst letting everything else be assembled by the lowest bidder/lowest paid servants.
All hope is definitely not lost, it's just that things are going to be more regulated and targeted to medical's real purpose, which is the patient.
