seed mums to be

hi this is linked from the one vanilla kush and lsd, basically i always use cuttings from friends, some times they look great other times they look poor.
there may not be much to it but i would much rather be planting a marine of a small plant opposed to one that will do. so ive read somewhere if u want to keep a mum from seed you have to wait 2 months before taking cuts because naturally by this time it should show sex?????? is this true.....

surely someone has grown a mum from seed??????

I tend to find this is true. A plant will produce pre-flowers to indicate sex before the plant is put into flower. I haven't recorded this phenomenon but I will on my next project. Some plants will show pre-flowers sooner than others though. The LSD I have I grew from seed, it took about 10 weeks to show a pre-flower. LSD is a smaller plant but can be cloned easily because its very hardy and would need to be grown out for a couple to a few months to get good clones.
