I have been a grower for appromately 20 years on and off and the last 12 years for a living. I have run into a serious problem with one of the sites that has been an issue now for over a year. I have diagnosed it as septoria.

I am cloning the babies in 5.5-6.0 pH'd water in a cloner and upon rooting thery get transplanted and fed the same water with a light nutrient mix. The damage begins upon transplanting so I once thought it was the growing medium but after changing that out it kept happening to new clones. I stopped growing in this spot for 12 months and when I began cultvating there it came back.
I am at a loss and very confused I have never run into such an obstacle in all my years of growing, and if I cannot cure this issue I will lose the property.

Treatments I have tried are baking soda andother bicarbonanate salts , sprayable sulphu, neem, and even eagle 20 nothing seems to help.

The small plants dont have the tell tale spots befdause they are very small and just wither when exposed but I am including the pictures.

I hope someone can give me that one piece of knowledge I am ovrerlooking or not concidering here.

Please watch this video. I'm about 99% sure your dealing with a Calcium deficiency caused buy your coco.
This is the missing link your asking about.

I wash and rinse my coco twice then buffer as directed.
Watch your solution PH it's important.
The ideal pH for the Cannabis growing in Coco Coir is between 5.8-6.0 in the Vegetation stage (for high absorption of Nitrogen) and the Flowering stage needs 6.0-6.2 (as its essential for Potassium and Phosphorus intake) pH to sustain proper nutrient levels

The younger clones dont show the tell tale signs of seproria....it is easier to spot in some older plants (pun). Therse are very young i have never seen a calcium def at this stage when feeding 1/4 strength. pH fluctuates slightly but in range and a narrow fluctuation is beneficial to encompass the best absorpion rates of individual nutrients.

I have been lazy about the coco: no rinsing of new bricks and wetting it down with my 1/4 strength, so I am going to take your advise on being dilligent and rinsing my coco 2x like you suggested. I have a few more clones ready to xplant in a day or 2, so we can try this out on those. Will post a log of that here on the weekend when I transplant them.

Please keep us posted. Hope you watched the video, washing is important but proper buffering is mandatory!
Have fun. This is not a bad job to do and your plants will thank you for it.

I could not find any information on your dry nutrient. NPK or Calcium content.
Make sure it has Iron, Manganese, Zink, Copper .
If not make sure and use Cal-mag + minerals as directed. Read up on growing in Coco.
All of a sudden your clones will be super happy if you don't over do it with a nice shinny new LED light.

I rinsed myh coco this morning and I checked the rinsate's pH and it was way out of range at 8.9 pH. So I rinsed with 5.7 pH water until I got rinsate that was reading 6.0 and transplanted this very healthy clone into the medium. So here it is and praying that this was all that was needed to fix this grow. I will feel very silly but be very grateful if this is the case.

OK so still having issues.. Here are pictures of plants I obtained which had zero issues and within a fww days of bringing them home I this began occuring...
I did spray with premixed neem suspension, but ive never seen neem do this.

I transplanted into rinsed coco but the signs of this began happening before transplantnig.
The strain is GMO. Artic cookies was also obtained from same source and sprayed and doesnt have the same progression of damage.

Again I am dumbfounded as ive never had these kinds of major problems with little plants using light food and T5 lights.

geez… sorry to be blunt but get rid of them, they’ll be nothing but problems.,
grow from seeds..
clean up your grow area, disinfect everything..
really too many issues to even bother explaining..
plus on top of that these are clones from a large grow op? HLV’d could be an issue as well..
cloning should only be done for personal use..
the business of clones needs to go away or be stopped..

The entire grow space has been cleaned a number of times. Could there be something still harboring in there? It was even repainted. I am completely screwed. :(

It doesn’t look like Septoria to me either, but to be totally honest, I’m used to seeing it on tomato plants. Mancozeb works well for it in my experience.

If it were me, I’d switch out my medium. Your runoff shouldn’t be that alkaline, but you already know that or you wouldn’t be testing the pH.

Is that in the same batch of coco. I know nothing about coco but suspect ph issue you identified.

It’s made from ground coconut husks and generally has similar properties to Canadian peat. Some growers favor it because it has a unique ability to hold moisture without plants sitting in water, which helps to keep them hydrated while mitigating for things like root rot. The thing is that much like peat, it tends to be acidic if anything. I think you’re right about the pH being suspect.

Is your pH tester reliable? Just a thought from someone who’s been stung by the $10 sticks from China.

I’m fairly certain that is a salt tox…..I could be wrong bc I don’t normally roll coco. But I remembered it could be a thing. Just a suggestion..,…
