I have started a DWC grow a week ago and a business trio just came up for around the 7th week (I am growing a 10 week seed to harvest northern light)

I doubt i can find anyone reliable looking after my plant at that time.

Should i abandon the grow? Any alternatives to survive the week?

Its still in a propagator so not actually dwc yet

Sorry about your dilemma. I think one of the many great thing about DWC is that you can walk away from it for a bit without it drying out. How big is your res, how long will you be gone?

I have a 5 gallon res (20L). Unfortunately i will be gone for 4-6 days at a flowering period (2-3 weeks before harvest)

I can do something about the res. Have like a backup or something but what about not being able to adjust ph etc?

Do you have pic of the plants now? 4-6 days with the roots suspended in water isn’t bad as long as you can control the other parts of your environment, ie light, airflow, temps.

Its still germination so not really worth a pic.
I can control air, temp, light etc automatically. But during that time i am afraid that nutrient and water consumption will be too high. And with so much roots its not really 5 gallons of nutrients solution.

My main concern is that water, nutrients will run out

No need to cancel grow. You can do it. Go look at PA Hydroponics YouTube videos. He talks about and installs an external 26 gallon tote reservoir (in one video) just for such occasions when you will be away. I installed one on my system but have not needed to use it yet, but it is there if needed. It just needs to sit a little higher than wherever water goes into your bucket/reservoir (whichever you have). It will gravity feed only if needed.

Can you send link?

I don't have a link, but if you go into YouTube and search "PA Hydroponics" Gary's videos will pop up. Scroll thru until you find the one on external auxiliary reservoirs. You can buy the part for filling from him and get the tote at a big home improvement store.

I wouldn't scrap it I run 4 separate 5 gallon dwc no reservoir I change my water every 7 days it can make 7 days but it close
