Cutting is a requirement of FIM'ing! Can't FIM where you're pointing though. Cut it there and you're topping instead. There are many ways to go and lots of available reference material on this site. Read twice, cut once.

FIM is an acronym for Fuck I Missed. A pruning technique similar to topping that was accidentally created when someone tried to top their plant, but cut in the wrong location. Positive vibes...
