I popped 10 seeds about 3 weeks ago. I got them all in dixie cups under 24 hour veg. Will they show there sex in 24 hour veg or not until i flip to 12/12?

Only when you flip them to 12/12. If your worried about some boys hanging with your girls and taking up room during veg don't fear! Simply change the schedule to 12/12 and when they show their sex weed out the males, then return the light schedule back to 18/6 and viola! You can return your newly confirmed ladies back to veg. Hope I helped and keep farming!

I run my plants on 24 hour veg though. If I do 12/12 and move back to 24 will it ruin anything? And how long should I do 12/12?

Also for future reference plants only count their dark time, not light. So for instance if you say had a huge field of pot outdoors and wanted to push the veg longer you could disrupt the dark period briefly and it will keep them in veg^.^ hope I'm helping

Never had any issues with vegging 24 hours so I stick to it. So, do I only do 12/12 one time then move right back to 24?

Yea for sure do what works for you^.^ now for the schedule, YES turn the light schedule to 12/12 until you have all the sexes confirmed. Once you have culled all the fellas then you may once again continue your preferred methods. Make sure to keep us posted and brush up on your sex identification if you haven't already.

For me, I can usually spot sex on any given plant between 35-45 days from seed. Regardless of light schedule. Once the plants reach puberty (preflowers in veg) they will show their sex.
A certain percentage of plants just don't shows signs of gender untill they have been under 12/12 for a couple weeks, but they are usually females.

In a perfect world we would all have your abilities. I sadly haven't had any seedlings in awhile. I do however have some auto flower dust...

I really don't see what you mean by this.


Anyone with a scope can look closely around the 5th-7th nodes on a young plant after day 40ish and usually spot the first signs of gender.

If you were being critical of my so called abilities ,let me respond by saying this. ....
Your advice to flip the plants to 12/12 untill sex shows then to flip back to veg schedule, is not sound advice.
All your doing with this technique is confusing a plant,and causing unneeded stress.
What I did was answer his question with my own known experience.

You can keep your auto flower dust, thanks.
