Added Silica to water, ph is now way high. Im out of ph down solution. What can be used from home? Need a fix asap
I'm pretty sure I have read or heard lemon juice?

What media are you growing in?

Dont use home solutions it will almost certainly cause issues. Especially in hydro and soiless. Not to mention any form of citric acid will not work well at all

You local hydro shop probably had 85% phosphoric acid for cheap… like $5-10. Money well spent to avoid issues.

I'm growing in soil, another question. How much Epsom salt per gallon for top dress?

Put your a+b base in if your using a 2 part and it will bring it down close.perhaps use mono silic acid which is in the range of 5-7ph

You dont top dress it. You mix it with your nutrients 1gram per gal is typically used.

If you can tell me all your nutrients and additives i can help you get your nutrients in order.

Using potassium silicate is not for you unless you foliar feed it. I suggest silicon dioxide or Mono-silicic acid. They wont effect the PH.

Potassium silicate is used more for a PH buffer while still providing some form of silica.

You will be fine to feed this time but over time it can raise soil PH potential

Also theres heaps of silicon dioxide in soil.specially sandy or clay soils if your in the ground..

I'm using mono-sillicic. Gro-silic from gro tek once a month. Top dress Gaia green amendments every 3 weeks. Last evening I did a foiler spray with potasium sulfate. My plants are in first week of flower . I've just purchased Epsom salt, have never added to soil or top dressed yet.

Plants look good.. all id do is feed 1g per gal of mag sulphate and call it a day

Does anyone have input on whether to use Diatonacious Earth as Si-source? In either soil ammend or brewn like a tea? I got the green version and it drags the pH rather down, around 6.3. And seems to be water soluble but not 100%.

Rice hulls I believe are high in silica. I could be wrong but something to look into if your looking for organic sources
