NO NEED for 24 hrs of light. If you have any kind of half ass light. You are wasting money and not doing your plants any good!!DLI look it up a plant is only able to absorb so much light if you have a big enough light you can veg less than 18/6. I personally like 18/6 and I like to go into flower on a 11/13 schedule. You really get a good stretch but you have to have plenty of light to achieve DLI

That plant grown under constant (24/0) light sure must have used a lot of energy for growing roots. It has me wondering why and whether that's a beneficial use of resources. My initial thought has to do with storage of sugars in the roots. If it constantly stores sugars but never has an opportunity to use them (i.e., a dark period), then it would constantly need to create more storage space, so it grows more roots to store more sugars than it can use. If that's true, then it would be a compelling reason not to use 24/0 light, except during early life stages when root growth needs to be a priority.I have no problem growing roots under 24hrs light

Huh? I'm not sure what your point is. Why must she have used a lot of energy for growing roots? Storage of sugars in the roots? Are you saying she would have been bigger and healthier than what she was had she not been under 24/7 light? Did you read back to see why I made that comment? It was in response to Oldoneye saying: "Food for thought, root development occurs primarily during periods of darkness." The point I was making was that plants grew perfectly good roots under 24/7 light and didn't need dark to do so, I was holding proof in my hands. I made no other bro science claims to the pros or cons of 24/7. In the past I grew mothers and clones under 24/7 bc that's what I was taught, it worked, why fuck with it. Times have changed, there is way more scientific and anecdotal knowledge available these days. There were no resources like Thcfarmer. There was no innerweb to do research with. The consensus then was split, now days the consensus seems to be that mothers don't need 24/7. That being said; I'm still going to keep my mothers and clones under 24/4
