So it's the first time I'm growing and I was just wondering with your guys expertise in cannabis cultivation if this setup would work?

Basically I have a 1.5 X 1.5 closet that I want grow one or if possible 2 plants. Its gotta be stealth but i dont have to worry about smell, its not a concern to me. i'll post up pics of my room/closet when i get my camera back.

So heres just a quick look at my setup:

I'll use 4 CFL for one plant; 6000k veg, and 2700 -3000k flower

strain: Indica autoflower

24 hour light cicle until flower, when i'll give it 6 hours of dark.

i'll start giving nutes after 3 weeks and maybe some Veg growth spray.

and that's it, i wanna try and make this as simple as possible.

I have a few questions tho, obviously this is my first grow and also i'm on a budget. I have no way of controlling temperatures, will the CFL's give off enough heat? also when i give it dark, its gonna be cold in that closet, like 13-16 Celsius.

Any comments or suggestions?

im not an expert but you really dont need heat to grow you need light. MJ plants are very resilient theyll grow in temps of 40-100 feirenhiet you should be ok with temp.

They prefer the low 70's, similar to a mountain top.

In an area like that, I'd suggest a SoG set-up. 4" grid spacing, finishing about 20" or so. You'd maximize your yield for the small space provided. As soon as clones are rooted, they're put into bud. But watch how many days of veg.. if mine got more than 2 days of veg, they got too big. Flower as soon as they're rooted, and they'll behave the way you want them too. :D

My cab was 30" x 18".. held 18 clones at once.

thanks fatrippz thats a great sigh of relief for me cause i thought i'd have to maintain warm temperatures in the room.

I think spuzzum just smoked a big J =D my rooms only a foot n half X foot n half.. But your setup sounds killer, i wish had a bigger space i'd definitely try a SoG.. thanks for the info tho bud. Cheers!!

18" x 18" is a little over 1/2 of what I had at 18" x 30".

Here's a SoG in a 16" x 24" area over at ledgrow.eu.. notice the spacing of the cubes.

If you only planted 1 plant, then don't expect it very large, unless it won't get much side lighting, just top light. Therefore, it's best to utilize the space with as many tops as possible. Thus.. the Sea of Green.

In an 18" x 18" area, (wall to wall), you should be able to fit 9 plantlets, 4" grid. That will give a few inches all around the perimeter for side light reflection and airflow. You should get at least 10 grams per plant.. I did :)

OHH Ok now i see whta your talking about. try to get more tops rather that expect bud growth in the middle of the plants. I think i'll give that setup a try. Should i get LED lights and put them at the side of the plant?? Nice grow btw man, what was your final yeild?

That's not my garden.. but I think he said he got just over 3 oz's. The cabinet I had, was a 3 stage perpetual, with a 6 plant rotation.. 18 plants in total. Every 3 to 4 weeks (starin depending) I would harvest 6 plants, and insert 6 more. My plants finished 14" to 24" maximum... 2 to 4 oz's a month. Indicas could have vegged a bit, as they were the shorter ones, but a sativa/indica cross I had was a monster bush type.. 20" to 24". That was with a 250hps. Basically, a plant has branches.. branches are a waste of space for the bud that it holds.. mostly branch with bud at the ends of that branch. SoG, are singular stocked colas, or with very little branching if any. There's "screen of green", where you train and bend your plant for numerous tops, but for me that takes too long. As soon as they're rooted, they go into bud.. no vegging, and no branching.

I'm currently building a new cab, and this will be led. Right now, for the 18" x 30" area, I'm starting with 127 1w led's, and plan on 2 or 3 T5HO's as well, to round it out. If you go led, and want side panels, though I'm still a rookie at led's, I think the 5mm type will be better for side lighting.. they won't burn the plants at a close range. The 1w led's need to be set 6 to 8 inches above the tops.

By the way, you should look mat that guy's garden on his site.. very interesting to see the progression he went through. Although I did see something a little "misleading" last night.. he claims "just over 60 watts".. yet, with the photos of his panels, you can clearly count 102 led's.. 54 on top, and 24 per side panel. Still, pretty impressive for only 100 watts of led's, but it's not the measly 60 watts he's pushing. :D
