I have a 3X3 box I made from 4" rigid foam and plywood. It's got a full door in front.
I'd like to grow a bruce banner auto in the box. It's obviously got a low ceiling so I'm going to be using soil in as shallow a pot as possible. I can make the soil 24X 24 easily so should what considerations should I be aware of with such low headroom? It will be very easy to control all other growing conditions and I'm not really concerned about producing an award winning plant. I mainly would like to see what such a small space is capable of accommodating.
I'm not currently interested in a hydro setup.
Thanks for any advice.

Hey HowardC,
You do have some space constraints. If I were you I would consider some LST on your plant once she reaches that time. I would also think about the position of my light in relation to the plant. This is achievable, but it will take some effort on your part. What are you using for ventilation? How many fans in this box? Do you any pictures of your set up? What will you be feeding her?

I thought LST and autos don't go together??
I have not set up the box for growing yet. I have 4 led lights to choose from. A couple of 100watt and higher. I'm thinking 2 of the 100 watt on the sides/top of the box?
I have a few fans as well so I can choose oscillating or fixed. Ventilation won't be an issue.
I use GH trio in recycled soil.
Thanks

Sounds like a plan on the soil and lights. Remember you need to leave room for the height of the plant in relation to your lights. You don’t want the lights too close to your plants. I LST all my ladies with no problems. Try it out, you are going to need to do something with that small space for sure.

You can partition that 24x24 and put 4 plants in there, snip it, clip it, bend it and train it to stay low to the ground and growing more horizontally than vertically, then set some scrog netting above it all to set up a uniform tent wide canopy. You'll be able to get good light placement, better yield and a more even finish with what little space you're working with.

Get a shallow but broad pot. Because it cant root deep it wont grow as much vertically, focusing on lateral growth instead. Some LST as well cause without topping it will be a tight fit. Scrog is nice but if she outgrows the box you're fucked, so I'd skip the net just in case you need to pull out a backup to move her into.

Only way to find out is to just do it, right? (:

I'd bend your auto 90 degrees and grow it out as low and as wide as possible. In the future, I'd run photos to have more control over canopy size.

I'm going to put a seed in water and start the process. I only want to do a single plant. I'll post pictures.
Thanks
