Smear neem oil on stem during flowering?

Hi I have 8 THC plants in a hoop house. I've noticed I'm getting more aphids on my leaves. I released lacewings a few weeks ago but not sure if their doing much and only have about two lady bugs, and tiny bit of pirate beetles left over. I know you can't spray buds with neem oil but what if I just smear neem oil up the stem with my finger? I figure it will make the bugs not want to walk up my stems to get to the sugar leaves. I will not put any neem oil on buds or leaves. What do you guys think?

That looks good but what do you think about just smearing neem oil on the main stalk and stems only?

I don't know what concentrated neem oil would do to the plant. Just a safe option i thought of.

I use tanglefoot or similar, works well for crawlers. You can wrap with a plastic survey tape, just snugged up and 8-12" length, then paint it on with a small brush.Just remember the stuff is around, it can be sticky if you back into something painted. Cheers
