has anyone used HUMBOLDT COUNTY'S OWN SNOW STORM ULTRA? it is supposed to be a combination of snow storm maxx and purple maxx. please let me know what you think of this product

I have a bottle im waiting to use this next run. But I think they removed the Purple maxx out of this formula, so its just the snow storm with no purple maxx, but it is does have a cheaper price though.

I got some and cant decide on when to use it.

In the beginning of flowering , middle, or towards the end?
I would guess use during weeks 7 and 8 before I start the 2wk flush and harvest , or would you use it earlier or longer?

aren't purple maxx and snow storm the same thing? i was under the impression that they couldn't decide what to call it. that being said, i've been using p maxx/snow storm for over a year now. usually start using it around week 4 or 5 of flower. have used it from the start and there wasn't much difference and considering how expensive the stuff is, i just wait til later. also i only use half the recommended amount. gets things super frosty tho!

You can start to use it as soon as you switch to 12/12
I use 5ml per gallon in my nute solution.

gravity is where its at how deos everyone like that product i think it works really well and i do think snowstorm and purple maxx are 2 different things purple maxx works you just need a decent temp dip to actually have the color change with that nutrient

PM used to have the SS in it but they split them to bring the cost down. The SS is supposed to be for increased resin production, but be careful it's really easy to burn tips with the SS.

The back of one of those bottles says something like "we don't know why it works . . ." - I get the impression this stuff is snake-oil sold to growers who are overly excited at the prospect of bud enhancers.

Of course - when so many people tell you that they 'work' anecdotally, it makes me want to do a controlled test.

Exactly. Part of me thinks it's because some of these could be mixed easily at home for pennies on the dollar - I mean you don't get the psychedelic bottle - but most of these bud enhancers seems to be the same things:

Cane sugar and/or molasses, B-complex, and a dash of phosphorus and potassium.

I couldn't imagine that would be hard to mix - obviously you could create dozens of gallons of the stuff for a few dollars.

Another issue is whether what you could mix would be absorbable by the plant itself - or whether or not the stuff Humbolt sells is even absorbable by the plant!

I mean the vitamin industry (for people) has been pushing out shit for years that doesn't do anything when you take it except stress the liver.

The difficulty is that a controlled test would involve a number of plants - at least a few dozen to design the experiment right with a control group and everything - and I don't have that many med cards . . .

SSU is part of my normal nute schedual. I app it from wweek 5 on/ I like gravity as well but you need to know how to use it. If you just throw gravity into your res you will fuck yourself...

I have been using sno storm/purple maxx and was wondering if any of you guys have used it in dwc? I know it warns against but says its possible to use if you add hydrogen peroxide to the res. Lookin for any advice from someone who may have tried it.

SSU is part of my normal nute schedual. I app it from wweek 5 on/ I like gravity as well but you need to know how to use it. If you just throw gravity into your res you will fuck yourself...

old generation purple maxx had both, but now they figured out they had two products in one so they decided to seperate it and sell as 2 diffrent things. It really sucks for the ones that used the original.

old bottle said purple maxx with snow storm under it. Not anymore
