{"Autos....? AUTOS!!!????"}
"Oh boy, here he comes again...."
"Who's that?"
"Weed Hitler"
I like Anesia, but you've demonstrated my point: autos aren't as potent as photos. I am not going to buy auto seeds when I'm guaranteed more potent plants from photos.Describe what you mean by good? Anesia's photos are on a whole different level than most photoperiod genetics sold by other breeders. There's a few but only a few that can compete strain to strain with them.
Anesia Autos are slightly less potent than their photo period cousins ... but we're still talking mid to upper 20's in THC percent.
It’s only natural that photos will be more potent, over time I have seen the percentages creep up in terms of potency, which is a step in the right direction, they can be handy for speedy grows, but still lack in finishing quality when compared to their photo kin, overall weight, the nose, cure time. I do charge less for my auto flower when I do grow them, been 3 years since I’ve done any, it’s been photos since then for all of the obvious reasons. And yes ILGM and crop kings have shaky genetics at best. For me, they are ok, will grow them from time to time, but they don’t hold a candle to the real McCoy…..I like Anesia, but you've demonstrated my point: autos aren't as potent as photos. Also, being an indoor grower, there is no point in autos for me. Giving up control of something as basic as flowering, for lower potency plants, would be an absurd choice.
Another problem with the whole seed industry now is (WARNING: OFF TOPIC RANT) second rate hack seed sellers, like ILGM and Crop King. If you get autos from these hacks, they are going to be 3rd rate. If I were to buy auto seeds, I'd look into real breeders, like Ethos or Anesia.
Yes, Pacific sucks, too.You can add Pacific Seeds to that group of seed banks.
I don't advocate growing autos indoors. I see it as a viable option for those wishing to grow outdoors in a short summer season.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. You’re quite the sporting gentleman. I can dig it.I make my own auto seeds and grow them in summer in Spain.
They are very popular here for outdoor, small, easy to hide, quick extra harvest in summer.
That way i get 3 harvests a year, photos for spring harvest and autumn harvest and autos between May and August.
Its great to have an extra summer harvest, thats why i dont understand all the negativity.
Yes a bit less quality but so what?
I usually make hash or oil from the smaller buds and it gets me very stoned.
Cant clone?
I dont care, i never keep clones anyway, so many varieties to try even after 30 years of growing...
I think autos are great, grow what you like and let others grow what they like.
Easy, with that objective pragmatic view on cannabis breeding, you may be upsetting a certain subset of cannabis purists who believe that breeding autos will inevitably flood the zone with hermaphroditic alien subpar ganja strains that will be hell bent on nothing more than infiltrating pure master strains. The threat is real I tell youAuto-flowering plants are bred for specific purposes, and that's not unusual. There's lots of breeding happening. So, why worry about one type of breeding more than any other type of breeding? Perhaps this can be thought of as basic capitalistic business. If there's a market for something, someone will eventually seek to capitalize on that market. Cannabis can be divided into a mind-numbing number of market segments. Each of those may have its own set of breeding attributes.
Okay... I'll try not to mention it again.Easy, with that objective pragmatic view on cannabis breeding, you may be upsetting a certain subset of cannabis purists who believe that breeding autos will inevitably flood the zone with hermaphroditic alien subpar ganja strains that will be hell bent on nothing more than infiltrating pure master strains. Something in the evolution of ruderalis caused potency to be less necessary. If THC is for defense against predators, then the cause of the decreased potency in ruderalis may have been the presence of different predators in the colder climates with shorter growing seasons. If so, I wonder which predators might cause increased potency.Im sure ruderalis is a cold climate strain could explain the potency and strength as its adapted to the cold environment
True. I, however, was thinking of Darwinian natural selection. It's not important. I'm just kinda stoned right now.I'm more of an opinion that high THC cannabis is the product of selective breeding. In my youth, most weed was less than 5%. What is it today? 25-30% and sometimes more depending on strains? It's selective breeding that has done that. It's also selective breeding that has brought the thc levels way up in a modern auto flower
Remove all warning labels, the rest will sort itself out!True. I, however, was thinking of Darwinian natural selection. It's not important. I'm just kinda stoned right now.
Hadn't thought about that aspect to be fair. Thanks!I prefer photos as well, easier to deal with especially if you have a plant get sick in veg you have time to nurse her back, for an auto… there’s no recovery time, so yeild will suffer.
I do agree it seems that genetics seems to be the key factor, they stunt easily and again no recovery time, so it’s important to start with genetics that are strong hard part is finding them before you start.
Nuff’ saidRemove all warning labels, the rest will sort itself out!
Love your passion @JumpingspiderEyes are great because you can observe things with them and then use your brain to draw comparisons. You don't even need any fancy equipment or lab testing, its plain to see for all of those with these miraculous orbs inside our skulls, that Autoflowering genetics are inferior to equivalent photoperiod.
We must ELIMINATE autos and stop this needless watering down of the gene pool. Photoperiods are objectively better than autos, which are basically just hemp plants bred to have a little more thc. All the while, infiltrating our bongs and subverting our mission of creating a better cannabis for the future. PHOTOSUPREMACISTS UNITE! Rid the world of the scourge that is the autoflower!
