Hi all,

As one of my seeds has sprouted, I thought I better get my soil together for when I need to pot on.

I’ve taken in a lot of information over the last few days and I’ve been trying to implement the things I’ve learnt. I know I’m still going to get a few things wrong from the get go this grow as I’m using products and pots I already own instead of buying new/bigger as my wife will have my bollocks if I spend much more money ✂️ 🍒.

Anyway my soil is this.
Soil starting ph help please

I’ve added about another 10% of perlite coco coir and vermiculite as there wasn’t quite enough for two pots.

Just done a couple of ph tests to see where I’m at and it’s about 5.9

Now I know ph in soil is less important then other growing mediums but I would like my plants to get off to the best start so…

Should I add some garden lime or something else to try and get the soil starting ph a bit more neutral???
I was thinking of maybe trying to get it to 6.5?

Or is that a waste of time and just go with what I have?

Thanks all ✌🏼

nah you are perfectly fine with that ph, it will push up when you start watering and getting the life flourishing again in it, it will auto adjust to where it needs.

Hi ,

At the beginning the potting soil buffers with the ph, knowing that your potting soil has a limit and will no longer buffer. But if you correct your ph you have to do it until the end

Hi mate, So would you agree with the above and just leave it alone and just keep an eye on it throughout the grow?

On a side note I don’t fancy our chances as much now if we concede goals like that against Iceland 🫣⚽️

That's the big problem of the 3lions with southgate, the defense leaves something to be desired but the attack is dazzling.

Leave and look youre plant 👍 You will learn to understand the needs of your plants

Look Germany vs greece 🤣

Watching friendly on Sky sport 😁
Ah man Germany equalised 😞

Problem with Germany is no matter how bad they play they always find a way to win games in tournaments

I would not mess with the soil PH, I’ve seen many try, and seen many bad results!

Don't forget to wash the head of your ph tester thoroughly after each use and keep it moist.
