It's all perlite mate! Just a rtw setup but I catch the water in saucers.Hey, gotta question. Seeing your extra layer perlite on top of the soil, i was wondering, do you water from top?
I did that too one grow and was thinking afterwards that it would raise humidity in the tent ( i had humidity issues that run). With higher temps humidity was raising. My thoughts were, the perlite is soaking the water and the high temps result in more transpiration of the top perlite layer. Laying on the top the water there evaporates first, leading to a higher humidity in the tent. High humidity in the tent leads to less transpiration by the plant as far as i know.
Now to my question, do you have humidity issues, when its warm and you are in a high watering cycle ?
Soil not getting as dry as normal with the perlite, i see the benefit but didnt want to risk high humidity again, thats why i ask.
I have a good ventilation set-up as I purpose built the room for growing so high humidity is never an issue.
