Hey Leaf, I've lived in the Deer Park area for 15 years. The vibe here is very small townish. No crime to speak of here.
Don't go to Spokane much, basically the North Side. Yes there are parts of town that you would not want to go to unless you were prepared. Just like anywhere I have lived good people and bad. I plan on spending the rest of my days here on my 10 acres.

Peace

Nice Stickman thanks for the reply. Well we may plan a trip up there next year. Im guessing early August if it happens. Anything we should take a look at up there. Any good semi local campgrounds?

Hope im not too late, I'm from spokane and thought i'd give some info. Yes, crime is a problem, but largely is composed of small property crime and auto theft. As far as large scale violent crime such as murder and armed robbery, spokane is still extremely safe. It often gets a bad rep from it's large meth community and high amounts of petty crime, but unless you get involved with those particular circles of people, you will likely not be a victim of these crimes. Also, the MMJ community is highly under developed, there is no way that these dispensaries (maybe 8 total in the entire county?) are actually meeting demand. If your a legitimate grower, you'll be a big fish in a small pond in the Spokane area. There are only 2 dispensaries that I frequent, because they have been the only legitimate ones i've come across. And of these two clubs, there are maybe a total of four or five consistent top shelf strains. Good weed is scarce in this area. And the best part of spokane is the geographic area. It's surrounded with recreational areas and it's about a fifteen minute drive in any direction to completely get outside of the city (there is no metro area).

LOL I would argue the worst part about spokane, the reason is IS spokane, is the geographic area. But the first part I totally agree with. The weed here is SHITE. I made friends with a dude in town and he gets stuff that is a California C-, but an eastern washingont B+. Last time though, my god it was so horrible. Wet, looked way early, leafy, no smell, no trichs, just pure bunk. Since then I haven't bothered wasting any money on nugs. If I could bring the gear I was growing in california to spokane they would anoint me with oil, crown me and parade me through the streets.

I am a legal new MMJ organic grower , and your right, I'm certainly not having any problem getting rid of my product. My philosophy is that of the golden rule. I only sell what I would buy, and at 2/3 or less that the dispensaries are charging.

I see adds on CL here with pics of bunk that people are trying to peddle, and I would be embarrassed to even post pics of these buds. It's sad, so many people these days just don't care if they rip people off or not (or they just don't know what they are doing). It really pisses me off, for the MMJ patients that don't know any better. Hopefully I can make a difference in some of these peoples lives.

Peace.

Yeah I agree, I guess i just meant the scenery here is awesome lol. Talk about douchspensaries though. I had to go through the ringer of bullshit until i found a couple places that are alright. No one in this town seems to know how to cure bud (or they just don't give a shit).

Yeah i think anyone who actually takes the time to grow good product is doing spokane a real service. At least a few people won't have to smoke bullshit weed haha. I had to go to this new dispensary the other day because I fucked up and didn't pick up on time, so they were the only ones open. The place felt about as sketchy as buying on the street.

Ok where do began...DON'T under any circumstances move there. If you do chain everything down and talk to know one:stop: I've lived in LA, Oakland, Seattle, Portland, Montana and Spokane for 6 years:facepalm: I traveled due to my job for 15 years and have never lived anywhere with worse humans in my life!!!!

I did everything right and told nobody about shit and had everything on the outside of my house jacked and then they kicked my door down and cleaned out the house, clothes, shampoo, toothbrushes, trashcans, vacuums, and on and on. The worse part was they got 4 pounds dried and about 20 plants hanging and drug them to there car leaving a huge trail of cannabis for the world to see!! I returned home from a one night trip to casino cause we NEVER leave, and needless to say i havn't since to find the police and all my neighbours surronding my house. They didn't take a single statement:writing: or picture:snaphappy: or give two shits! :finger:

So we moved to "best place in town" only to have 2000 dollars worth of tires jacked off my truck in broad daylight!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: :rage: We hate this place and i don't use that word, we're counting the days until my kids graduate high school and I'm gone like the wind! 90% of the peeps are liars and thievs, the herb is horrible but we have great sun, sun, sun. I would think moving to the outskirts like 30 min away from town and isolating yourself would work. I love the area and nature surronding it and lake cda is unreal as well, but unfournatley the people are a shame to humanity. The police here also have a like 1000% higher rate of using deadly or lethal force than national average and racism is still pretty present.

We thought we would love this place and could grow old here. Now we built one of those x-mas construction paper ring ladders and we pull one off daily so we feel better and don't jump in a bathtub with the toaster.:hungover:

I'm sure you're making a huge differance and the area needs more amazing people like you. Much respect and happy farming.

Oh man, G8 you nailed it there. Can't argue anything you said in fact I think you are being pretty lenient. Spokane is the only place west of the Mississippi where Juggalos thrive in large numbers. That is like a barometer of stupidity that is pretty damn accurate.

What do police and juggalos have in common? They both show up going "whoop whoop!" and ruin your party.

LOL. yeah the social and ethical progress in spokane is minimal to say the least. Thats why i live in the sticks. I was noticing that same thing you pointed out about the police G8, what the fuck is up with their cowboy mentality? this whole place is kinda cowboyish, in the sense that having a conversation with the average spokanite feels like your going back in time 200 years.

Ya super sad no culture and a real hero/cowboy mentality at hand here. The law is just unbelievable here, i mean the tazed and killed an handicap person because they didn't understand there initial commands and he wouldn't follow there commands. This all took place in a gas station!! Then they lied and covered it up..nice huh.:inpain: That is just one of many incidents, it's got so bad the police are being forced to where cameras on the body to record everything at a very large price tag to the tax payers. I really dislike labeling a community one way or another but Spokane has proven to me over and over it's true colors. I like the geographical location and surronding areas but not the people or community in any shape of form. Honestly the only people we like or can associate with not from Spokane originally...something in the water or maybe Gonzaga has everybody in a trance.:walkingdead:

I stayed there a week and loved it. Met hella cool folks, really down to earth.

Dealt with police, they pulled me over for having a repaired tail light. When I asked him why he pulled me over, he said it was because he "had a job to do" LOL!!!. I told him not to ask my passengers anything and told my passengers to shut the fuck up and let me talk. He threw my id and papers back in the car and drove off. Easy peasy, I have more trouble with small town cops.

I think its all your own mentality, pretty sure I could find peace and serenity anywhere.

I'm really happy some folks have a good time here and meet some nice people. We need more people coming here and having positive experiences!:) With almost a million people in the greater area you're bound to find some good people and like I've stated there is some positive aspects to the area as well. I'm going to strongly disagree with you though that my mentality has had anything to do with my misfourtunes here and i can promise you the individuals murdered by our police were good people who had no fault in there life being snubbed out!:( I live here and believe most others who do will the same way. unfournatley the numbers don't lie about theft, crime and police brutality, some of the highest in the country per capita and the highest in the state for sure . They dont kill out of state people, only local residents!! Gangs are moving in and taking over, we just had the A3 (a-trey) gang up here with semi's of oxycontin and guns, and killing people left and right. Son of anarchy is a joke compared to what there doing. This is the Spokomton for a reason and dont believe me just google oxycontin spokane/ police killings or theft it's hands down the worse spot in the state.ust trying to save somebody from having to put themselves and there family through it

I'd way rather live here than some gang run shit hole where you can't let your kids play outside. I've lived here for years and if you are easy prey you'll probably get treated like one. I've been all over and I feel safe here. There are no dealers standing on the corner or parking lots full of gang bangers. Meth is a hell of a drug and so are pills but people are not killing innocent people to get em. They are robbing other druggies (generally speakin).. If you got robbed for 2 pounds somebody knew you had it. You know that I'm sure... I don't care where you are in the world you can lose everything because someone wants it. Crime is higher because we get fucked on our tax money. We have half the amount of police Tacoma has with the same number of residents. All of the money gets funneled over to that side of the mountains. I'll tell you that I have no fear when my girlfriend goes on a hike or walks our little dogs. Pick the good parts of town to live in and you can roam the whole city. Downtown is cool, plenty of shopping, farmers markets here and there, If you drive 45 minutes in any direction you can get to at least 10 awesome lakes. Badass camping and fishing all over the outskirts. And the Spokane river which runs through the center of the city. The cops that are here are just like anywhere, good ones and bad ones. Don't listen to G8 about gang killings. That is few and far between. Spokane is 86% white. So you might get your change stolen outta your ashtray and your window busted in your car but probably not murdered in gang violence. I'm not saying whites aren't criminals, just not gang oriented or unprovoked murderers (statistically). You get tweakers and theives but not murderers everywhere. A lot of peeps from Western WA think they live in the center of the universe and Spokane is a shit hole. Many of our criminals are imports from over there after this sweet press release:

Spokane Police announced the official elimination of its property crimes unit Wednesday, along with the eight detective positions assigned to it.

The department cites budget cuts, and says the positions were eliminated through attrition, not layoffs.

"Unfortunately, what this means to the average citizen of the City of Spokane is only about 5 % of property crimes will be investigated", said Police Spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe in a statement released Wednesday.

... Good shit. How are you gonna get caught if no one investigates it. Bitchin uh? Anyways, Spokane is safe and a good place to live. Property crime is a little high but just use common sense, get a home in a good area, and keep your nose clean.
