Hey Farm! decided that my journal belongs here as well.

With much inspiration from NorthernFarmer and SensiSamurai...and by inspiration i mean i completely cloned they're rooms. much respect.

Respect to some of my buddies who have helped me along my journey to growing that sweet sweet cheeba! RollinFace, Shady, Erudite...prob forgetting a few..But, RESPECT!:friday:

=====

I'll start with some build pics, not the most detailed but if you have questions feel free to ask away.

Space: 8ft x 12ft x 6ft
Vent: 10" Max Fan - Can100 filter - passive intake
Light: Bare Bulb - 1000w Ushio HPS Opti Red - 1000w NextGen Ballast
Water Source: SmallBoy Filter - 23ppm
Medium: Pure Canna Coco
Nutrients: Full Canna Coco Line - CalMag Plus
Strain: Casey Jones(oaksterdam) - Platinum OG Kush(i hope)

First there was a room, a room with pondliner
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/P1012662.jpg

Which was predictably a beeotch to smooth out evenly by an amateur
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/P1012663.jpg

Best we could do, and it will do. Added a Lip to the doorway to keep any moisture on the pondliner in the room.

And we build

And we hang

Heavy duty eye screws into the joists and RopeRatchets to hang the Can100. Fucker is Heavy! and cost me about 12 plants in space.

the build went as smoothly as possible. A few hiccups here and there, but who doesn't have a few.

My first run with Coco..went with Canna. Straight out the bag.

Fillin' 1gal grow bags. Was supposed to go with 2gal..but with 2 week veg i thought 1 gal may be better. Hoping it doesn't bite me in the ass:stick3:

Platinum Kush day 6 veg - these girls came to me in bad shape, spent the first week of veg nursing em back to health...lesson learned: make your own clones!
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/P8082767.jpg

So far, so good. had a few deficiencies related to the coco - apparently, cal mag is leached by the coco if not pretreated - but the girls have recovered nicely.

stay tuned...I've got a few more posts before this journal is live and direct.

Aren't the plants on top 2 rows going to be a bitch to work with? Looks great though.

Can't wait to see today's shots sfzoo... BTW, did you ever figure out your electrical breaker issue? :wondering it appears that I've got a 100 amp house panel and I'm doubtful I can add a sub panel to get my next upgrade underway...

Thanks for the kind works everyone.:joint:

Shady, not really sorted but i am going to replace it as Rowdy suggested since it wouldn't hurt and most likely will fix it.
edux, whatup! been hangin for a bit but decided to dive in and share my journal. I got mad love for TC, but the Farm has more to offer regarding my girlies!

bigtrees said:
4-5 foot distance is pretty far away if you ask me.

i thought that too, but the girls seem to love it. Btw, its about 4ft. from the top. I'm moving girls around every watering to change the footprint of the light on each.

Some of the Caseys really stretched out, with ~4" of space between nodes...and others are pretty compact, comparatively speaking..

few are like this, stretchy

few are like this, pretty tight

...but most are inbetween..

and a shot of the middle of the room, the box fans worked wonders! and i'm super glad i gave it a shot..was prepared to buy an A/C to battle temps...but after installing the box fans i'm now down to a consistent and cool 77f.

Its mid week 4 here in the stadium.

Got in the room last night before lights on and took a few flash photos. Looking pretty lush overall, but a few girls are looking a tad hungry.

Things are coming along nicely in the stadium. Week 5 just started, budsites are filling in nicely and should start to swell in a week or two. Resin production seems to be greater in the Platinum Kush than the Casey...but i'm sure finishing times has more to do with that. That said, I have no idea on the finishing time of the Platinum Kush...i assume its an 8weeker...kind of hard to find any info on her, or pics for that matter. Casey is a 10weeker so i'll have some planning to do on getting the next round started.

Added Canna's PK 13/14 again, debating weather i should run it for the duration, or just at week 7 as i planned.
--My PK schedule is simply one that was recommended to me by a fellow grow, RF, but this was for ANs Hammerhead. Canna actually only recommends use in week 6, but i've read about people using it throughout with good results - from flip to harvest.

I cut the Canna Boost, for no reason except i forgot to add it to the resevoir. One week of no Boost shouldn't matter too much. I've actually haven't seen any side-by-sides without Boost. And those who use it usually say 'it works' but can't articulate why or how. Kinda expensive. I talked with a Canna rep, and he was able to break it down, alas i was incredibly high and forgot it all immediately after we parted ways.

And a couple shots of the ladies in the stadium.

Platinum Kush. I'm becoming more and more impressed with this strain. Started out slow, could have used a few more days of veg to reduce strain and increase yield..but she's chunking up nicely, smells great, still doesn't look to be a huge yield.

Caseys were gettin a bit crowded, so i moved a few to the Platinum side where there was a bit more room to accommodate such large ladies! Fat girls need love too!!

Sorry from crappy photos, i'm gettin a new lens for my other cam..so i'll have less orange photos. No lens in the world can make me take 'better' photos tho..lol.

Thanks for looking again! Stay tuned and we'll have some decent smoke in no time!:joint:

Thanks RSG,

veg'd for a little less than a week, would have flipped earlier but the kush were hurting. So, i gave them some time to recoup before the flip. Casey was getting tall during that time, so i had to top her to keep her height under control.

I have no idea what my yield will be, but i'll be happy if i'm in the neighborhood of 1gpw. Other vert setups have smashed 1gpw, but its my first rodeo with verticle, barebulbs, and coco. Gotta say, everything has been treating me great. I'm lovin vert and coco.

things looks pretty good bro but I think for your next run you should each side of rows in about 1ft closer to the bulbs, with vert getting the buds as close as possible will really bump your yeild

definitely going to keep that in mind for our next run. Still dialing in the room, hopefully it wont be too big of a limiting factor.

Powdery Mildew, how i hate thee!
I've yet another infection with PM. Its not bad, but as is known, if it on the leaves it is in the plant...and perhaps, most likely, in the buds.

I have several options for attack:
-currently, for the past 2 days, i've been cutting off the leaves that have visible PM. There haven't been that many, i maybe cut off 7 or so leaves with visible PM on em.
-GreenCure, is a potassium bicarbonate and is completely healthy to spray the plants, buds and all, until the day of harvest without any residual taste or odor.
-Zone/Penetrator, not sure what exactly the Zone is made of, Penetrator is a wetting agent. There are 2 methods of application: dunking the whole plant or spraying the whole plant.

I know Shady has used the ZP as a spot treatement during the late stages of flower, but i'm worried that spot treatment won't help the PM within the buds if affected. This leads me to think that the dunking method will be most effective, should i take this route.

I've read this thread from front to back. And most here seem to recommend with great enthusiasm, the ZP treatment.
With over 300 replies, 40k+ views, and almost no bad reports of the ZP has me nearly convinced that this will be the route i take.

GreenCure seems to be a great product to hold back PM till harvest but doesn't kill PM, it just knocks it back.

One thing is for sure, I can not use both...so decisions must be made and QUICK!

=====

Mid-week 6 here in the stadium. The girls are thickening up nicely, and should start the swelling next week or so.

No PK this week, i may run it for the week 7 and 8, then cut it at 9 for the harvest window.

zone penetrator does not kill pm either, eagle 20 is a systemic treatment though you should only treat moms or young clones with it
