As far as the plant support if you're hand watering I say the stakes. I wouldn't rule out the yo-yo's either. I've seen people work wonders with them.

As long as no bud rot this round, you should have a mega harvest. I feel your pain on the bud rot last round. I have had that one more times than I'd like to admit....

Keep up the wild jungle!

Thanks for the info SFZoo. Your running at 69f at 6" from that 100w light? What kind of cooling do you have running? I figure my 1000w light are running 25-30f over room temp at 6"

i'm strapped for cash right now, so...a new pump, pvc, fittings, etc. aren't the highest priorities. Might have to bite the bullet and give it a run. Its getting pretty dense in there so I'll have to do something quick..

budrot is something i'm definitely worried about. Not much preventative measures to take..just gonna blast the fans when the start to get fuller. dehumidify and hope they don't rot..

no 69f is the ambient, sorry. I'll try and take a reading tonight and report back.
Negative pressure is all i use to cool. it doesn't always run this cool, summer is pretty killer.

Thanks for more info SFZoo. I've been doing a lot of online research into grows and it seems that it is rarely clear just where the temperature readings are made. I measure mine under a light just inside the canopy. I'm running a cool 84f 19" under a 1000w light today but my humidity is a real high 57% from all the rain.

So i've got a reading from just under a light just inside the canopy and it reads 68f(max) during lights on. But its real cool here in SF at the moment. Runs way hotter in the summer.

I do like the drip clean. It allows me to feed all my strains the same mix without burn. Saves on time and money. DC is cheap and i use about 2ml/5gal bucket. I couldn't say if it absolutely works..i'll just say that it has worked well for me.
On the weeks where my nute mix has no PK boost in it, i feed the mothers w/ the same batch as well. Pretty convenient.

======

Getting huge, i can not walk down the aisle without brushing up on the girls on boths sides....which will be problematic when the colas are larger. Hmmm...

Few things:
there is a cold spot in my room, and the girls that sit there have consistently been the first to purple up. Same story this run.
However, i've now noticed purpling on the undersides of the leaves. You can see it in one of the photos. Not sure what to make of this..

its been pretty frigid this week in SF and i've not made adjustments to account for the dip in temps...consequently the girls have been in 65f lights on, 54f lights off.
Do they look cold? i'm sure they are.

I plan on putting the exhaust on a timer to let the room heat up a bit, although i'm not too stoked on this idea.
I'd rather get a fan speed regulator but that is extra$$.

The photos were snapped on day26, and i'm not too thrilled at their development. I'm always a bit anxious when the buds start to fill in, i'm never confident that they are where they should be. I'm always switching strains and have never dialed in a single strain...i should.

Again, thanks for the interest!

any criticism, help, hate, love, karma, advice, or cheers is welcome!

Personally, I like the idea of using a thermostat to control the fans more than a speed regulator - those regulators burn the fan's motor out prematurely.

Just get a $40 Lux thermostat and plug your fans into that - lets you set separate day and night temps, really a good buy - I do the same with my cooltube fans and use the heat from the lights when needed (to save money on having to heat the room when I can get that heat for free from my lights which are gonna run anyways).

Also, maybe another oscillating fan (or two) to get rid of the dead spot? Probably be a worthwhile investment, and will help avoid PM and mold with the extra airflow.

Other than that, everything looks great bro - keep up the good work :)

appreciate the info, Bobby.

currently, i've got 2 boxfans running under the shelves - blowing toward the exhaust. Above the canopy is the 2 oscillating fans in the photos. I think that any more would be overkill..

i'll definitely looking into the lux thermostats...i'm just worried in later weeks that the neutral pressure, when the fan is off, will leak odor. Not good.

Thanks for the help.

lol, thanks Frosted..

and thanks again Shady.

I'm not too keen on killing the fan with a thermostat. Yesterday, I did it w/ the lights on and the bags started to sweat, as well as a few leaves. I don't think I can live with this excess moisture.

Rather, i'm considering buying a shop heater. Seal the shop as best i can and have the heater near the intake of the room.

This is what I had in mind
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200400920_200400920

I figured it'd be worth the price just to use it directly over the passive intake to keep night temps a bit higher.

thanks for looking guys!

Hey sfzoo, not sure what kinda room you have to play in there or anything, but it'd sure seem like an awesome idea to me to hook up a propane heater in there instead of an electric one - you get the benefit of heat as well as the CO2 which is produced as a byproduct f the propane being burned.

Only you know if you have the room to do that, but my non-med state arse is always trying to save electricity and kill as many birds with the same stone as possible :)

Good luck no matter what you choose :)

question on drain water

My understanding of drain to waste is that ever time you feed it flushes the medium with fresh nutes and water which pushes out salt build ups.

Is this correct?

if so does your system of wicking up water by catching it in a pan work for you or would it be better to drain the water out and away from the plants?

I know exactly where you are coming from on that one. I also question whether my strains are doing as well as a they should and such. I've been switching strains and nutes every grow. I also feel it's time for me to start sticking to one nute line, and a few familiar strains. When I saw that part of the post it helped to solidify my resolve for the next grow. Thanks man.

I'd say they look pretty good for 3 wks though. Judging from some past pics I think they will fill out just fine as your room is sick as hell!

Boby smith definitely has a good idea on that one with the co2 burner. You would increae your yield and quality as well as add heat into the room if i'm not mistaken.

you can also run a humidistat to kick the fan on when the humidty reaches a set point

bro if your gonna use a heater I would go with the oil filled radiating type - let the airflow through it and it will work tits

its what I use here in the mountains during the snowy winters - much more energy efficient and it dont make a hot spot like that thing will

something like this:

I prefer analog ones to the digital controlled

I don't see a problem with that setup.

I never thought of that, although it is exactly what i wanted to do. As of now, temps are back down now that spring is here. The damage is done however.

This room will get too hot in the summer/fall and too cold in the winter...oh boy. :character0029:

haha. no machete here.

speaking of hacking up the girls, I am now of the opinion that(at least in a vert setup) plucking and pruning is crucially important. I let em grow out a bit too much...should have been pulling leaves regularly. Or at least a couple rounds of intense pruning. :harvest:

should be finishing up soon. I'll try to get some updates and get this thing current...i've been super busy.

Thanks for looking Farmers!
