I've had seeds take an entire 8 days to pop.
My roommate puts them in a damp hardly wet napkin in a USPS small box and they pop every time. He doesn't soak the napkin. Just slightly damp.
Anyway..... I'm on about my sixth grow....
I used Dr Earth for five of them and everything turned out great but man was it a lot of work.
I switch to gia green and in a 5 gallon felt pot mixed 5 tablespoons of 284 and 5 of 444 in coco coir 25% & 25% worm castings & 50%
ProMix BX(I don't think it matters which pro makes you use as long as it has Mycorrhizae already in it so you don't have to add any but I'm sure some people do)
Then it's just wet dry cycle your watering schedule until you flip the lights to 12/12.
When you flip the light you give it 5 more tablespoons of just the 284 and about another inch of 1% worm castings and the plant will finish from that without adding a single other nutrient. Also change your water schedule from wet dry cycling to keeping it wet but still removing run off of course. In fact....we didn't even run out plants off except maybe 5 times total. The rest of the time the second we see water coming out of the bottom of the pot we stop watering. Drain the tray and wait a day or two check and water again. Each plant took 1 gallon of water every three days. So we skipped two days and watered on the third. Sometimes I will only skip one day just to see if they can handle the entire gallon after skipping one day and most times if we only skip a day it takes 3/4 of a gallon to start rlgetting run off
So it's twice you feed through the entire grow and with the max plants I can have which is 4 and using 4 totally different strains I had zero issues with any of the plants and they grew perfect for the first time without issue.
One of the plants was a lemon haze auto that must have mixed with something else because the only reason we started this grow is because while we were harvesting the last grow.... The pot we grew lemon haze in had a little seedling growing out of it after it was completely cut. So my roommate took it out put it in a little cup and we grew it. It was mostly lemon haze so we thought it was just a seed from Lemon Haze that hermeed and we thought we'd have another lemon haze Auto but turns out it wasn't an auto. So the lemonade must have been fertilized by one of the other plants. And this plant has a 5-in diameter top bud that's as long as my forearm. It's enormous. And it grew to 6'4" tall.
Also the buds were more dense than a lemon haze auto produces. Though the plant structure looked exactly like a lemon haze auto. It veged for 90 days before I realized....this isn't an auto because it would be near finished after 90 days.
I wasn't keeping track of the last grow and was having my roommate run the water schedule so I could get more work done.
I know this is a longer post than most people like reading but lemme tell you....I've never had as good an experience growing as I did using gia green in the doses and feed times mentioned above.
Gia green is simple to use and excellent results.
Although I must say I did still give the plants one tablespoon of Dr earth simply because it has some nutrients that gia green does not have. I also give sulfated blackstrap molasses when the plant has nice size buds on it which adds potassium iron and carbohydrates and a few other things as well.
But if I didn't use those things the plants would have turned out fine.
My friends think I am a professional and tell me my buds are better than dispensary buds. One plant i grew they believe is the best they've ever smoked.
But I'm nowhere near that. I just take suggestions from those who are great at growing and I remember details well. So it's not my plan I'm using. I got it from Canuck on you tube. And it works excellent.
I tried many different methods and this particular Canuck method is by far the easiest.
