One phenomenon consistently reported from the Highland Oaxaca experience was that of peripheral visual distortions of primarily cartoon color images. This tended to increase the visual distortions caused by other psychedelics such as mushrooms or LSD.

Oaxacan wasn't the only sativa that had that effect.
Smoked some homegrown Berkeley weed back in the 80s that was "redbud" maybe from bag seed, not sure but couldn't sleep a wink that night because of the cartoon images when I closed my eyes.
Also, ate some space cake made from some Cambodian sativa landrace about 8 years ago and that did the same thing. Pretty sure Cambodians have never been to Oaxaca, Mexico.

I had to chuckle when I heard DJ say some of his past results were "too strong".
That's right.

DJ discarded those because he wasn't breeding for potency, but rather quality effect.

Unbelievable in today's environment where THC % correlates with popularity.
