Straw Bale Gardening?

anyone ever tried using straw bales as a medium? or even heard of such?

you know it ;). gonna do it with some veggies too. really interested in tomatoes and pepper plants.

so far have you read the book? is there more than just getting hay and planting in it? i started a ton of kale and cucumbers so maybe ill try one of those in it.
