Submersible pump timing

I am a new grower and have just started to experiment with hydroponics. I have a system set up with a submersible pump that has hoses running to the rockwool cubes. I am not sure though how much i should run the pump during the day? Somewhere i read that it should run about 1 min every 1-2 hours during light periods and only a minute during the dark period?

Any advice will greatly be appreciated!!

It depends how big your plants are and your roots..When I was doing flood and drain and drain to waist I was watering 1 time in the morning and 1 time in the evening,This was after the plants where established..The first week I would water once a day only for a minute or two..The number one issue that people run into is over watering..JACK
