I never use the typical "duct tape" for anything. It's effectiveness is very short lived. I don't even own any.

Instead, I have the proper tape for every use. I'm a bit of a tool slut.

These are the rope ratchets I use in the veg tent, 150# each, but I still use back ups. I'm all about overkill & redundancy when it comes to mechanical stuff.



I think for you & I it comes from working on cars/bikes ourselves. Often times I'll look at how something is done & I say, "That's not how I would do it" & make it bigger, better, stronger.

But I have nightmares of my lights falling lol. Even though I know it would take a pretty massive event for it to crash (in other words, I would have bigger problems to worry about), I still worry about it. Even though I've never even had it happen.

I have some buddies who duct works falls, fans fall, shit happens to this and that. knock on wood, ive yet to have anything F up in over 4+ yrs of growing..... minus a certain brand of 8" 420cfm duct fan whose fan blades decide to rip apart while on. 3 in the past 3 months, all same brand fan, only the fan blade rips apart at the base. ive already made it aware to that company and are looking into it. nothing is getting sucked into the fan and no damage on any of the "blades". its separating at the base when the individual fan blade is moulded to.

and x2 on building shit better. I used to compete in usaci and db drag comps (stereo comps), scca auto cross racing, 1/4 mile drag racing, and sport bike racing (demonRR1 on youtube). and I do all the work on everything myself, including weight balancing the suspension. but its been 10yrs since ive done that so im rusty as hell.

now I need to look into making my own salts and save some more cash.

I use the Epic hoods with Galaxy select-a-watt ballasts and 1k Hortilux hps. I'm very happy with this set up.
