Here are some typical fall shots from 2014. Not my work. Pilfered from a local news site of viewers pics. But just to give you a sense of what I wake up to most days.

Here is a pic I took on a road trip in 07 off the Oregon coast. If memory is correct it was around the Haystack Rock area. As you can see it was very early in the evening. The colors later must have been spectacular.!!!

Here's a few more from the sunflower field. I learned a valuable lesson that day, after I loaded the pics on my computer I noticed when I had the camera up high on the tripod the field of flowers looked flat. The couple pics where the camera was at flower height on below the flowers looked much more 3D.
had great cloud formation and color that night but my composition was under par and next time it will be right.

When I moved to Texas, my boss tells me "Welcome to the real big sky country." All I did was laugh. They don't have sunsets like this out there in the oil patch. Should dig up some of the shots from the different locations I have though.

Decided to dig em up now anyways.

This is a shot of the moon taken one morning on the way to location.

Bit later the same day, closer to location. This is out northeast of Midland nearly to Abilene.

This is what is called a Swab Rig. We pulled fluid off of gas lift wells as well as cleaned up after frac jobs and conversion jobs. Was also the rig I learned how to drive a 13 speed in. See those mounds that look like they're lines with plastic? Those are the largest unspoken environmental disaster of the oil industry aside from the spills out in the ocean. These pits wind up filled with fluids used during fracturing and left to evaporate or leak out into the soil, forever damaging the area. #1 reason I quit that job. Great money if you can get over the moral hurdles.

And for those of you who have didn't know this is what legitimate crude oil looks like. The yellow portion is crude oil that has a good concentration of petroleum distillates in it. The bottom section is a mixture of brine and acid used during a frac job. This stuff caused me to develop eczema on my hands from constant exposure. Great stuff to start fires with, very very volatile.
