Looks like tornado debris in the air. Is this what I am seeing?

@jumpincactus no, that day was my first oil shower. That's remnants of the show on the windshield, damn well kicked off and shot crude 100 ft. in the air. Took me three days to get that location back to looking decent.

Heres some shots from the severe monsoon and associated supercell that rolled thru town on Monday. Wind gusts clocked at over 60-65 mph. 1 report of a subsequent microburst that torn this town up. Hundreds of trees down building damaged. A microburst can produce lateral winds over 100 mph. Some places got over 1.5" of ran in less than 30 minutes. What a mess!!!!

The lightening happened with such a rapid discharge it looked like an alien invasion. We had thousands of strikes while she rolled thru.

Figured since this happened in late afternoon it qualified for this thread.

You a roughneck bro?? Thanks for the clarification. :D

@jumpincactus not exactly. I didn't work on a drilling rig, but I did do maintenance on gas lift wells. Sometimes they got violent and, without too much detail, would basically say "f--- you" to our fluid control measures and give me a proper spray down.

Gotcha, oilfield and offshore rig work is not for the faint of heart. Dangerous work. Stay safe !!!

Man that second pic is nuts! Was that a micro burst or just that much water falling it looks like a solid stream?

I'm out of the oilfields now, lot of factors came into the decision to leave but it was not for the faint of heart. Definitely need balls of steel and a few screws loose out there.

Ya it was a doozy for sure. Rocked the town pretty solid. Massive tree damage all over, roofs ripped off, about 6 lightening strikes that started fires. I'm telln you, it seemed to me what I would imagine a alien invasion.......

The discharges were coming in the same clouds sometimes 20-30 per minute. It was a helluva light show. Would have made Pink Floyd pale in comparison. :D

I was on the rez coming home last summer and got hit with what I can only say was a real deal microburst. Not enough room to describe that little fiasco...... First time in my life I was ever really scared over a weather event.

This event on Monday came close......... Hope no cannabis trees got taken out....
