hello THC farmers i'm new to this forum but not new at growing im halfway through a grow now and thought i would start a journal on here.
setup 400w hps with reflector, 392w CFL's (5x68w, 1x uvb bulb. screen of green, ebb and flow system.

super silver haze

hey guys glad to see someone is interested, not sure if i mentioned it but im battling spidermites right now on my super silver plants. also this is week 6 of flowering but i started out with a 13/11 light cycle for the first 4 weeks and it seemed the super silver wouldnt bud until i dropped it to 12/12 or 11/13. other than that growing strong.

super silver is the middle of the room up front is a clone of a clone from some commercial smoke.

Update

Week 7 flowering

I have not been spraying for spider mites for a few days i will spray this week. buds are filling out but i think that it will take at least 10 weeks to totally be finished. I trimmed a paper lunchbag full of leaves today that were really infected or were dead or covering primary bud sites. have been just topping off my res to keep the nutrients and ph under control will flush with clean water the last week.

week 8

I started flushing 2-27 day 53 since the light was changed. I hope that they will fill in a little more before harvest. The Super silver haze is budding more but still 6-8 weeks till harvest on those two. the smaller one in soil that im growing from a feminized seed a F1 from a hermi pollinating a non hermi, so far no signs of flowers. the next update i do will be harvest shots.

week 9 day 62 of flowering

well no harvest yet, im waiting for them to mature some more. My light mover quit working properly so i turned it off and left the light in the center of the room now. changed the res water today with fresh water again for the flush. The SSH plants are looking about 4 weeks into flowering so my guess is around 4:20 for their harvest, as for these buds i thought i would harvest today or so but maybe another week, i would like to wait till the leaves start turning colors.

week 10
day 69 since switch to 13/11
day 45 since switch to 12/12
day 55 of flowering (or so)
So, I trimmed alot of leaves off the plants today, also i found in the center of the screen, which is almost impossible to get to... some burned tops and some badly infected tops. I cut the burned tops and then i removed alot of the super silver haze lower branches that weren't getting much light. this way i can concentrate the energy on the top colas that get sufficient light. I also have been spraying 12oz twice a day of diluted 91% ispropol alcohol, to kill spider mites. Today is also day 37 of flowering for my smaller plant in soil. Mostly indica a seed that i bred myself. i estimate another 5 weeks or so on that one. as for my sativa..... my guess is 40-55 days or so. It sucks that i have been flushing my flood table but the SSH is in there too so i pour the tiniest amount on the base of the plant of diluted nutrients so it still has some but the other plants shouldn't be getting any nutrient water this way. I'm going to ask you guys what you think about these buds that are about ready to harvest, based on what i have told you and the pics i provide how much longer untill harvest. Please dont go on about amber tricomes and what not just on the information provided. I think atleast another week or so. But i need to harvest them before the end of the month.

the next pic is the super silver haze plant, you can see how i trimmed the lower branches off.
the last are the almost mature buds, I will try to get afew more pics of the mature buds for you guys to judge.

day 59 of flowering or so

today I harvested the 3 plants that were finished. I can tell what things need to change for the next grow, but i still have 3 plants in there not yet finished, one plant that is mostly indica is about day 41 of flowering, and the super silver haze is about 49-59 days into flowering so I'm guessing atleast 80 days on those two. Looks like a good harvest, no idea on the dry weight or wet weight, but one of my dencest buds weighted 34 grams wet, so maybe 7g dry or so. the last pic is of the room with whats left in it.

day 50-60 of flowering SSH
day 42 flowering Indica

Today I was trimming alittle in the room and noticed a nug turned a funny way, looking closer a off shoot of my small indica broke and had a dead spot in the stem about half and inch long. I cut it off and trimmed it up, seemed very dense for only 42 days old, mostly white hairs, and the smell was fantastic.Dont know the flavor because I havent started flushing yet, another week or 2, or 3 lol. I also pruned some branches that were damaged....My poor soil plant, most of the tops 20 i had to start with, were killed by spidermites and me attacking the spidermites. Only 2 or 3 tops remain alive on this massive plant, I only hope that this large plant will pump all its engery to the remaining tops. I have been spraying with Ortho Malathion Plus, which Is 50% Malathion. I was using Less than 10% product before that had good effects but not good enough. Lets hope this will do the trick, then its to dish soap water, then alcohol water. Got some dry weight so far 46 grams, with lots to go, these were the smaller pop corn nugs that werent dense and dried fast.
