What I find funny is I don’t eat corn grown by some college grad with a degree. I eat corn grown by some toothless guy with dirt under his finger nails and skin that looks like a catchers mitt. But for some reason folks only want to hire growers who have fancy degrees. If it were me I’d take that degree and wipe my ass with it. I ain’t smoking shit unless you got dirt under your fingernails.

Degrees don’t grow good weed. Degrees grow the schools bank accounts. Growers grow good weed. You can’t learn the shit you’ll learn here at a university. And you can take that to the bank.

Send those fuckers over bro. I’m a pizza nut. I could eat my weight in pizza daily. No kidding. I could eat it 24/7/365 and never get tired of it, haha.

There’s a big difference even in craft brews for example between those who do it because they love beer and they love making beer and those who just want to cash in on the fad. Those who really put the time in and love learning every facet of the craft are able to continually produce new product that the public loves. And in reality they wouldn’t even care if they profited from it as it’s a labor of love. It is what they were meant to do.

It takes a special person to learn the plant, history, genetics, tricks, methods, styles, fads, taste, effects and so on. Those who just want to get a buzz will never comprehend it on the same level but those who put in the effort and take the time to perfect the craft will always have people lining up to share in that joy.

It’s like the old Italian pizza shop owner who loves what he does and everyone loves him for it. He is passionate about his pizza and it shows. Sure you can buy dominoes, Pizza Hut, papa johns or whatever but why would you? He makes the best pizza in town and loves doing it. Sure the guy who owns the pizza chain might be rich but he will never make a pizza at scale as good as the Italian who still tosses and stretches his dough.

There is a big difference between cashing in on a fad and what I’m up too. I grow cause I love it. I’ll have a plant or two going for life man. Whether I can make money doing that or not. All I’m saying is it would be nice for example to be able to legally sell some of my product to maybe say put gas in the truck. Canada isn’t having any of that shit. They want folks getting it huge companies and the smoke is horrid (I’ve heard) so maybe they will come around. I’ll try not to take offence to the ‘cashing in on a fad’ thing and assume that’s not directed at me. I’m just hoping they will open up a legal avenue for craft grower to even exist (outside black and grey market) where I live

See I’m a little different in that regards. I don’t want weed to pay my bills. If it covers the cost of growing it I’m good with that. If I can afford it I’ll grow it and give it all away. I don’t need a dime for it. It’s given me so much over the last 25 years that I don’t want to hold it hostage. If you want it and I got, take what you’ll use and leave the rest for someone else that can use it. I’m just a care taker.

I was referring to craft brewers actually who do it because it’s popular. There’s growers who are doing it as well. But no it was not directed at you or anyone here.

Covering your expenses is fine, hell growing it for profit is fine too. I’m not saying anything against that at all. And also I would never tell someone else how they should or why they should or should not grow. That’s none of my business. I’m just stating how I feel and how I would do it. But I would never condemn others for what they do with it. I’m not a judge :-)

Yeah I think it might have came off wrong is all. I didn’t mean to sound judgemental. I’m good with whatever drives you to grow. I just love growing and I love sharing. Like I said if I could afford it I’d give it all away. But that’s me personally. I think everyone can benefit from it and if I can help them get it then I’ll do my best to do just that.

That good will always bring top dollar. No matter who grows it. Which is weird I was searching forums and came across tokeativity and I have to ask; would it suck if the best was grown by a bunch of bigots? It seems that people can find common ground around here pretty easily which is awesome.

You guys are funny! The main reason people still buy from homegrowers is the use of pesticides/fungicides on larger grows”approve or not”. You can’t isolate massive grows like you can a grow in your basement. It’s either spray or lose large profits from the likes of blood sucking thrips white flies spider mites, not to mention pythium rootrot etc. Everything needs sprayed and treated.

Where do you get this information? There’s plenty of jobs for dirty hippie yes man growers like spraying the pesticides, trimming cleaning pots etc. They get hired and fired all the time here in Co.
At minimum wage of course.

Exactly. What good experienced grower wants to work for someone else at minimum wages? Meanwhile getting told what to do by some fresh grad with a degree.

The main reason is quality. Plain and simple. Lack of pesticides or use of organic nutrients might be part of it but the bar is higher on small scale grows.

No one of course but that is how the people and state set this game up when everyone wanted regulation. People with legal taxed money who never had anything to do with pot get to make all the money while pissing on the growers who got this plant where it is today.
Next comes hps/MH lighting bans in the community. To combat the BM even more.
