How much would it cost for the 6 250w CFL?? You could get a 600w HPS light kit for about $200 on Ebay and it would have way better light penetration then the CFL's.

CFL will not match a 600w + a 250w because they don't have penetration like the HPS. You can get them as close as you want, but it will only be effective within 12 inches or so. I believe 850 watts of HPS will produce better nugs then 1250 watts of CFL.

The HPS has way better spectrum of light for the plants to use and 850w HPS has about 120,000 lumens and the 6 CFL has between 90,000-115,000 lumens (depending on the type of bulb). HPS are just more powerful and better for flowering.

Even if heat was a concern the HPS would be cooler because they are more efficient at how much heat they put out per watt, the reason CFL are used to minimize heat is because people use low-watt bulbs, but since you would be using more watts with the CFL then it would actually create more heat. So the HPS are better for flowering, hands down.

do you have the different growing mediums (soil and hydro) to see which one works better for you? A lot of things can go wrong with hydro in the learning stages especially if you (no offense) haven't researched it. I've heard soil is pretty hard to kill a plant unless you are trying to.. I have no idea though I am pretty new to this as well.

You should take some time and read through the forums and you will learn a lot, the more you know the more you grow.
Peace man! Hope you learn some shit before you move... at the same time if there is nothing where you are going, you may have a lot of time on your hands to perfect your farming techniques.

throw a 600 in there with a 4 inch exhaust fan,inline of course.t5s and cfl's will build residual heat which you still need removed from your tent.air movement is a must.what kind of budget you rollin with?

should see nugs form about 14 to 21 days depending on straIN AND DIET.i use bud blood and it sets flower sites quick and knocks a week off your bloom.try to be at 55 in veg and 40-50 in bloom.humidity that is.either go all in on soil or bubble buckets.two different methods and i would stick to soil for now.hydro aero and dwc you are directly injecting the roots with whatever you feed,good or bad.soil gives you an opportunity to fix it before something goes really bad.keep less ppms in the bubble bucket because your roots will be sitting in it all the time vs soil farmers usually feed water feed or feed feed water meaning soil plants usually get a good rinse at least once a week to wash the salts out,which if built up in your medium can cause lockout and many other issues.starting with good genetics though,good luck bro

hey thunder.on mybudget.on friday i dont wanna go over 250 if i can..i was looking on amazon and ebay.i found 600whps with every thing..woukd u trust that lightset up?and thats a fursure not set up n my veg tent will be one orthe othere soil or h2o..and its about 14 day in flower.and i can see flower sites.and i did more reseachon green crack.it normaly takes longer in flower..atleast thats what i get out of thereading...and i also looked on youtube..600 w of hps will giveme somenice nuggy right

Check with your local shops. Sometimes you can find a 1k $250 mag ballast, hood and bulb combo for 250. I did. Will still need a fan/filter for that kind of set up though, online can find a fan/carbon filter set up pretty cheap. The down side is its a pretty cheap fan and filter. I used my first fan in veg area after I was able to upgrade. Keep upgrades in mind when you buy now.

Honestly, you just need enough to get a good yield on your first grow and the discipline to get rid of almost all of it to finance the rest of your equipment. There is no need to buy cheap this round, only to have to rebuy better stuff for the next round. IE... dont buy a shit light now, just so you can buy a better light later. Real equipment costs real money, but grows real smoke. CFL/ T5 might get you by for your first run, but real meds need real light. Live off Top Ramen for a week if you need the extra cash, its worth it.

Get the filter. Raw, growing weed smells so much different from smoked weed. With no filtration, being in the hood, you will attract "roaches"

You're off to a good start though. the girls look pretty good.

I ramble. Its what I do.

Buy the absolute best lighting you can, eat top ramen, recycle your cans etc...
Get enough fan to keep you cool
Enough filter to keep you from getting jacked.
Everything else (meters beyond basic, co2, better filtration...) can wait to upgrade later.

the hydro... is it an airstone in the bottom of the bucket with an air pump bubbling the water? do you add nutrients directly to the buckets or do you have a tank you do it to and then the tank feeds the buckets? Are you checking your ppm?(before and after food) are you checking your ph? (before and after food)

i have 3 hydro set up on drip ring the othere 2 dwc.yes with an air stone in the bottom ..i do chceck ph every day and after i feed..and no res. just 3 gal buckets with thedwc..and for the ppm..iam working on gettin a metter for that...the dwc also lookked alil f ed up bc when i first put them in.i dident notice that my bubbles were on low..my bad..but with n 4 days niw..they look better ill post pics
