hey what's up everybody?

i am having a lil dilemma and need some help trying to figure out which way to go with my veg area.

i just recently decided to move my op to a more secure and stable location and along with the change of location also came a much larger expanse of space that was never or haven't been available to me in some time.

over the 2 yrs i've been growing i started out with t5's, but being that from time to time i had to relocate, i bought and grew accustomed to cfl's. they're lightweight and if i had to move again it was nothing for me to transport them from the old location to the new location. they also fit nice in any size tent i used, where as the t5 only could fit in a 4x4 tent or bigger.

however, now i am using open space i just don't think that they'll put out or cover the same footprint that a t5 would.

it's been awhile since i used my t5 and would hate to buy cfl bulbs (even though i prefer them) just to turn around to by t5's to properly cover an area. now that i no longer really need the use of tents atm, i was wondering what would be the best lighting of the two- t5's or cfl's?

here's the cfl bulbs i've been thinking of picking up along with the bat wings to place them under.
do you guys think that 2 of these will light a 6x6 area just as much as or better than 2 t5 4 bangers?
Feliz Dual Spectrum Fluorescent 300W

thanks in advance.

I would go with the t'5s and add a blue spectrum light in to both sets of 4 and being you already have the cfl's maybe use as supplemental depending on the space your using .

Glad to here you got some bigger space going on ..... congrads now blow it up like you can

Nice! You're gonna have you some fun.

I hear that. I use the spiral (household) CFLs as 'filler lights' in my vegging area. However...

There ya go. What is appealing about them can simultaneously be their drawback in a scenario as you describe. However, the other appealing aspect to readily available CFLs is just that--they're readily available.

Oooo.. you know, I've played around with the idea of using some of these, but haven't actually jumped into that pool. I have been using many T-footprints to grow photosynthetic organisms for decades--starting with my first miniature reef (coral) tank back in the 80s. Back then, and now, I use T8s and T12s, plain old shop lights. I like the T5 I have, but the PITA factor is the bulbs. If you're going to have to go online no matter what, then I think I land with the others and say go for a tube, which would be the T5.

Another nice thing about the T5 solution is that you can mix bulbs if you like. You're committed with the other to a large degree, yes?

I have to go with Mr_GreenGenes cause thats exactly what I use the High Output T5s with a mix of grow and bloom bulbs and they rock...Ive used HPS Mh and the whole game and to each their own but for a smaller grow why wouldnt a man want to..save power and get bud thats the game right...take care and good luck man

Hey catddaddy hope you can see these pics this is all t5 this girl is just starting to bud and almost 3 ft tall Ive super cropped her toopped her you name it so lets see what happens now
