Hi everyone thanks for the help... I have plants in veg some under a t5 and some under a 1000 watt lamp. Why do my plants under the t5 look so much healthier and just overall better? All plants are the same strain, same age and same feeding... Should I just run t5s in veg and 1000s in flower?

Well,
It depends on quite a few variables. However assuming that everything is exactly the same between the two setups except light, then it must be the 1000w light that is the problem. Is it too hot in the 1000w area and just right in the T5? Do the 1000w ones dry out quicker and you let them go longer without water? Do you space the lights correctly, t5 within a foot, 1000w no closer than 3?
Like I said, there is a lot besides a light that is doing this, both of those lights work great for veg if you have your other variables under control.

T5 Lighting = shorter stockier shorter internode plants
They also stress less due to the low intensity of light and less heat

HID HPS Lighting = explosive growth longer but longer internode plants
More stress put on the plant due to higher light output and more heat
