Hey all I wanted to drop a quick note on that GC because I have been getting a bit of interest in her via PM. She is a clone only from Grass Valley CA (Northern) so no beans to share. I have been running her for 3ish years, same cut. Not only is she a fast finisher and dank but she's mold and pest resistant. Because of her short flower time pests/mold/disease don't really have time to set in and do any damage (negligence aside). I ordered the Alien Rock Candy specifically to see if it will be a suitable breeder for my GC. I really want to keep the flavor sweet, she's got a melon/mango thing going on, and I would happily sacrifice some flower time for some sour candy.

I don't have a problem with sharing but I don't sell seeds and I'm not a breeder, so what I do is certainly chucking. I am a hardcore believer in honor and ethics in this industry. I have several cuts that were gifted under the conditions of not sharing cuts (GC is not one ;) ), and stick to it religiously. I'm going to contact the Alien crew and seek their blessing in a not for profit roll in the hay between these two. They don't know me from Adam, so I wouldn't blame them a bit if they dis-approve. They have spent countless hours establishing their brand, and from what I have seen, have a super clean and quality reputation. If it turnes out that they are ok with it I don't have any problem sharing (free) some S-1s with my fellow farmers.

Thanks for your interest,

BirdDog

For some reason when I think of the first generation between two hybrids I think S1.....but I don't know where that came from. So much reading over the years, I just write shit and hope nobody notices.

You blew it for me bra, jk.....i'm sure nobody took me serious from the beginning

Ok guys I know I've been off topic with all this MMJ talk, lets get back on track:

Weimeraner......holy shit. I was raised with mutts and Labs. In our area we had pure bread Labs but that was pretty much it. After I moved to Sacramento one of my buddies came home with one of these fuckers, it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I had to have one. Thinking back, man, I was kinda a dumbass. This freekin dog owned me. I don't know if you have ever been around a dog like this but he introduced me to the GERMANS!

Still hard to look at this. Me and a group of friends started rescuing Weims through the Oakland Weimeraner rescue. The back story on this breed is the breeders were looking to create the ultimate hunting dog. They started with the GSP (Short haired pointer). In the end, the original German short haired pointer still reigns supreme and the Weim ended up a family favorite. My second rescue Buck (pictured) I picked up when he was about a year and a half. This dog was a specimen, if you have seen this breed you know.....straight sexy. By the end of his second season he was all about it, natural pointer....crazy nose, and getting over chewing the birds to shit. He was destined to earn field titles. Then, out of nowhere, he became diabetic.....insulin dependent diabetic due to pancreatitis. He was bitten by a black widow, or recluse and just got sick. For the next year he received insuline shots twice a day, I had no problem with that....whatever my pup needs. Problem with dogs is that you can't monitor their blood sugar levels so the Vet has to guess the dose. The dose was too heavy and my "all about it" bird dog went blind. There is nothing sadder than a trained bird dog in his prime that goes blind within 6 weeks. His pancreatitis was out of control and a heavy amount of dicipline was necessary to do what was right. That was my first loss as an adult and boy it was a tough one. Just as I was missin my boy the most I went up to visit my folks. As I walked through the door they handed me a big ol' ball of black fur that is now known as the CHOP.

Funny how things work out eh?

Thanks guys, that was 7 years ago wow. That is the only time I can remember balling and babbling like a baby. There is no bond like the one between a Man and his pup.

And guys please feel free to school me at will, i'm certainly an amateur when it comes to this stuff. The reason I put this up was to get constructive criticism from my peers, fire at will!

So the first generation between two hybrids would be called a "cross" or simply GC x ARC?

Peace out, i'll hit another update Sunday.

Such an excellent thread with several things going on made for a nice read. I just ordered a pack of tahoe aliens and real interested in your progress. Love everything going on especially the dogs.

I also lost a couple of dogs in a short while that were far to young and have this boy running security now..

yes it would be a new strain - cross and therefor get a new name also but it is usually worked - grown out a few times - cubed - stabilized to see if the two mix well together , this usually happens easier if the male in the cross (this case ARC) is a strong male but Alien or a breeder can give your more details on this , you can also buy a book if interested in breeding called Marijuana Botany by Robert C Clark - I would bet to say all breeders have read this book in the past... peace soser...... now if you ever found a seed in your GC crop that would be an s1 s=self usually from a light leak or a hermie issue .... peace soser

Will do, I might have to grab that book just to satisfy my math geek side, even though I don't plan on any structured breeding at this point. I am def interested in it but it seem like if you want to do it right, you need facilities just for breeding and I don't have space (or the balls to grow 100s or 1000s of seedlings). I guess that's the benefit of having trustworthy people to help with testing.

S = self, check.....thanks Sos

This one will be donated free to the main club I farm for. I'll release the name of the club when it's done and if you are in the area you can pick of some of this free, courtesy of the BirdDog.

yeah, not something you can do without freedom and alot of space but its always fun to pollen chuck a limb or two and see what you create , never know could mix well together plus its cool to do it yourself , I have only did it once and got 88 nice tiger striped beans from one limb, have yet to grow them as you stated aint got the balls to pop 1000's of beans, did germ 10 and they all popped but put them outside in shade and they died... so give that a try not real hard and i'm sure Alien wouldn't mind being they were not testers and you paid for them and your not marketing them, just playing with your own toys shall we say. just my thoughts thou.....peace soser

Hmmm , I thought I would have to breed the GC x ARC, then breed a first generation male and first generation female to make an F1? I have a feeling that by the end of this journal I will have it all figured out!

I'm taking pics now for a little updateskee-poo.....

Awesome. Both my dogs are rescued hunting breeds that don't hunt . . mostly because I don't hunt. Being a cross of sight hound and scent hound, I think they're just confused most of the time!

It's Sunday!!! The BirdDog is chillin with some super grapefruity Lavender and about 7 beers deep into the niners game. I took a shitload of pics today so if you have a slow internet connection you are f'd...

Here are the AT, I trimmed off the bottom 2 or 3 sets of leaves. I think that giant mutant on the bottom left is a male, and the type of male that rapes dudes in prison:

Here is the mutant that threw that weird single leaf, I topped it early. Prob will be my keeper lol:

Here are the ARC, man....I look forward to seeing these every day:

I bumped up the PPMs in the veg room to 700 and the Aliens are eatin' it up.

I did end up getting out the weed wacker this weekend, but never made it around to the GC. I got side tracked and ended up falling some dead trees on my property and did zero work in my rooms this weekend:

Straight thicky canopy, that's pretty much how NOT to do it right there hahaha, nah... we will be settin baby straight in the next couple days. This is the benifit of the thowies, you ain't gettin penetration through this with a 600.

Lots of air flowing through here, that's where ya hit it and wha-la.....no mildew or mold. Ideally, you have several little fans blowing up through the canopy towards the light.....blows the heat away also.

Stacking up....

Bubba canopy:

She needs de-fol:

I moved 5 of my small OG moms into the room with my GSC to fill the remaining space and flipped to 12/12:

It's going to be a vine-ey jungle in there....

That's it for today compadres, it's beer thirty!

Dang half sent half sight? That's straight cruel lol. Nice grab on thoes hounds brother. Most people can't handle hunting breeds, it takes a special person because hunting dogs have crazy instinct that most people don't understand. It takes dicipline, love, and more of your precious time than other breeds.....good work, you have my respect. Let me know if them hounds give you any trouble, I'd be happy to help and love scent training.
