Yes those Raptors were $170 each in Sf....

I have an 8 inch fan cooling the 3 hoods and the air is around 64-66 maybe. The hoods stay very cool to the touch at all times. Room temp is 75 with the lights on......no burning of the plants or light bleaching. I have run my lights (hoods) so close as to cause light bleaching on some strains such as sfvogk. That shit is a little sensitive to light. Even though I did bleach some buds I still ran the light as close as possible to the buds! Also, if your hood makes hot spots in the canopy, then it will be harder to get the light as close as possible as the hot spots will upset the plant the most. My radiant hoods had horrible hot spots, but I bought those before I knew about the Raptors. Ive never run my lights 18 inches or higher over my plants, always lower. I saw the SeeMoreBuds dvds a few years ago and thats where I learned to get my lights as close as possible to the canopy. Too close is too close so its going to be a little different for everyone. More light = big dense buds!

Radiants are good if your space is limited. The Raptors are fing huge hoods!

man one of those raptors would fit perfectly in my tent--- Im gonna have to add those to the upcoming shopping list.

Once I get moved to the new place Ill still be going Jacks new line-- and the Hydrton route.. Dont think I forgot. Hydro here I come. If I get into the ideal spot Ill have a larger space which means Ill be having 2 runs going-- Once COCO Organic Xtreme Gardening and one Hydro With Jacks + Cal nitrate and Hydroton.

Do you simply aircool the raptors? or is it Water cooled ?

No one water cools.....always aircooled or if you use Co2 the temp is not an issue because you can run it higher. The Raptors are 8 inch, so you need an 8 inch fan or a smaller fan with an adaptor piece to vent and cool it. The dimension of the Raptor are really big make sure it will fit into your tent, a radiant hood might be better sized, but I dont know. Also the Raptors weigh 39 pounds!

Look at the picture of the Ronnie James Dio plant in the Hugo block a few posts back. Its looking amazing. I grew 4 RJD's in hydroton and 1 in the Hugo. The Hugo block plant is far ahead of the others. It has way better structure,a main stem that is already incredibly thick a vast root network and is just plain old way bigger than the other plants in the net pots. I might do a run with a big block of rockwool to see the results in my bucket system, using flood and drain. They make the big moma, its 8x8x8. Thats a huge block, easy to flood and drain!

A picture of the PurpleBerry Bx clones that Im trying to make. The onset of the purple color was fast, within just a few days of flipping to 12/12.

I will look into and check the dimensions but Im almost positive Ive got enough top canopy space to fit the Raptor in the tent. I also have a 6' and 8' also with adapter pieces. The tent also can hold over 150 Lbs on the roof supports so it should work out.

Care to ellaborate on the" Hugo Blocks"? How do they differ from Rockwell cubes? Or are they the same just much larger?

Those Purpleberry Bx potential clones look amazing for being clipped a couple of days into flower.

Where you able to get ahold of the mad scientists at Jacks lab in regards to their mix ratios?

As soon as I move and get my Jacks nutes and Hydroton/Hugo/Rockwell Ill be apprenticing in the most generic way.. Im still quite excited to say the least bc all your Jacks feed ladies are always so vibrant and thriving.

Im also very interested to see how this Organic run goes with my current few ladies.

AliasAO....yes a hugo block a is large rockwool cube. It measures 6 x 6 x 5.5 inches. Pretty big block. Ill post up some pictures later of the blocks and what im experimenting with.

Recent TarDawg picture....progressing nicely..and a few other plants...pulled a Tarantula ie Raskals KKSC x Alien out from the lights and took those pictures on the orange 5 gallon bucket. This is the mother of TarDawg.The structure of the motherplant is what I like so much and I hope will be found in the TarDawgs. These are 12 days since flip......This is all using Jacks Hydroponic with added Calcium Nitrate. I believe these plants to be pretty healthy and happy at this point. They actually have been through a lot and Im suprised they even look like this. Just goes to show you what killer genetics and a cannabis specific hydro formula can do, at least up until this point in early flower.....it would be hard to imagine that these plants would not produce some nice flowers at this point......getting in one last sulphur burn as pistols are rapidely forming little clusters of budlets....going to hit the plants with jacks new 40 year old bloom booster...........we will see what happens ..from their website...

"Jack's Classic® Blossom Booster has been a long time company and home professional favorite. It can be used on such a large variety of plant material that it is our second most popular formula.

The numbers in the fertilizer represent the percentage of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the fertilizer, always in that order. Our Jack’s Classic Blossom Booster formulation is 10-30-20. This is actually the optimal level of phosphorus to enhance flower and fruit production. Any fertilizer with a higher level of phosphorus (the middle number) is actually wasteful as the plants are unable to utilize such a large amount of phosphorus. Any phosphorus the plants cannot take up could be lost from the pot and leached out into the environment as run off.

Timing is everything when it comes to phosphorus, and more is not always better. Applying such high rates of phosphorus will also cause plants to stretch, which will make your plants look thin instead of filled out as should. Use this high phosphorus formulation during periods of bud set to increase number and size of blossoms. Resume use of traditional or lower phosphorus fertilizers for the remainder of the growing cycle to avoid “leggy” or “stretched” plants."

Jacks is $25 dollars for 25 pounds. It almost costs more to ship it! If you live on the east coast you might have a distributer near you. Their business in Cali is growing like crazy I found out after speaking to a rep on the phone. Im going to get a water sample done. It costs $36 I believe. I want to find out more about tissue samples.

Good luck.

I have 3 TarDawgs females left of the 5. Two were male and killed. One male looked StarDawg leaning, the 3 females all look a lot like the mother....Raskal's KKSC x Alien. The KKSC Alien phenos will have large long leaves, nothing squat about them. GoD posted a picture of a TarDawg that looks like a StarDawg leaning pheno earlier in this thread.

GoD used an Alien Tech leaning male that was found in a pack of Raskals Alien Kush F2's which was Las Vegas Purple Kush x Alien Tech. He (GoD)verified the male with OBS....

StarDawg is a hungry strain and can become Mg deficient if you are not carefull..like all Dawgs it likes to eat....

If you do have any TarDawg beans, thats it! There are no more left. I hope you all find something in this mutant poly hybrid.

My Purpleberry bx is turning purple before my eyes and its only day 13 since the flip........its very crazy to look at. I wish the plant I raised was strong, but oh well it is what it is. I hope the clones I took make it!

They are babies! Ill try to get a picture tonight. 1 is looking pretty good.

Ok here are some pictures. Any questions?

The plant in the hugo block is Motas Ronnie James Dio, the plant next to it is also Ronnie James Dio. They were planted at the exact same time. That RJD in the hugo has the thickest stem for its size that ive seen in awhile. Its not droppy as it appears in the picture, Instead those leaves are stout, strong and straight and they are growing out at the angles you see and are huge. It almost like a dome of green mass.

Im pissed that you guys waste your money on nutes! Dont do it guys. Time to turn a new chapter in growing your medicine. Dont be afraid. Its not easy and if you could attend a seminar on plant nutrition, in little more then an hour you be schooled on what is what with some basic plant and fert facts......

The plants in this thread were grown with a powdered nute that I mix in water called Jacks Hydrponic.

Cost does not include shipping if you dont live near a distributer.

My flower formula is.... 3.18 grams of Jacks and 1.8 grams of Ca Nitrate per gallon of water.

I will say this one more time to be very clear...

I am running Jacks Hydroponic at 3.18 grams per gallon of water.
I am adding Calcium Nitrate at 1.88 grams per gallon of water.
Epsom salts at 1/2 gram per gallon of water

The elemental nute profile is per gallon of water of Jacks(3.18) with added Calcium Nitrate(1.8) is equal to approx...

N = 113
P = 39
K = 161
Ca= 87
Mg= 47
S = 62

1 gram of epsom salt = 26 ppm of Mg and 34 ppm of S!
I add 1/2 gram of Epsom Salts which = 13 ppm of Mg and 17 ppm of S per gallon of water....

Final nute profile for flower..

N=113
P=39
K=161
Ca=87
Mg=60
S=78

I use a black 50 gallon Active Aqua reso.
I add 40 gallons of water.
Add 50 ml of DMZ zone.
Add 3.18 x 50 = 159 grams of Jacks to 5 gallons of water and mix until its dissolved, dump into the reso.
Mix 1/2 g x 50 = 25 grams of epsoms in 2.5 gallons of water until dissolved, dump in the reso.
Mix 1.8 grams of Calcium nitrate x 50 = 90 grams in 2.5 gallons of water untikl dissolved dump in the reso last, always last!!!

Check with PPM meter and PH meter, adjust with ph down.
GH adds P.
Technoflora adds N.
Sulphuric Acid adds S.
Citric acid adds I dont know what.

Jacks costs $29.50 bucks for 25 pounds!
25 pounds = 454 grams x 25 = 11,350 grams
each 50 gallon reso change is 3.18 grams x 50 = 159 grams of Jacks
11,350/159 = 71.38 50 gallon reso changes for $29.50
$29.50/71.38 50 gallon reso changes = .41 cents a reso change for my 50 gallon reso......

Calcium Nitrate costs $29.50 for 25 pounds from Peters labs and its 50 pounds for only $29.95 from Crop King!
25 pounds = 454 grams x 25 = 11,350 grams.
Each 50 gallon reso change is 1.8 grams x 50 = 90 grams of Calcium Nitrate.
11,350/90 = 126 50 gallon reso changes for $29.50 (I bought mine at this price so we will use it)
$29.50/126 50 gallon reso changes = .23 cents a reso change for my 50 gallon reso.....

Total cost per 50 gallon reso change = .64 cents... not including shipping.

Your nutes
A)should cost you next to nothing and
B)should be something you actually understand

Most nute companies dont want you to have any clue about even the most basic of plant science, otherwise you would never spend money on any liquid fert again..

The plants im growing look amazing and healthy dont you all think?...what elemantal ppm ratios do you guys use or shoot for I will ask once again with all of your nute cocktails?

Why use expensive bullshit nutes guys, come on and wake up and smell the fucking coffee! Do you think another line of nutes would make the plants in my TarDawg thread look any better at this point in flower? Salts are salts..and many companies blend powdered salts for cannabis specific applications these days. This formula would work in any medium. Mix the powder into water yourself, dont pay for water from any crappy overpriced nute company!

Do your plants look green and healthy on all the leaves, green to the tips? Thats what im shooting for here......its hard to achieve but a formula such as Jacks helps. Use your fav bloom booster (Jacks makes one to be used with their new one part Hydro Herb formula) for a few weeks in flower as well.....but be carefull. I believe it should be used when the stretch is ending and budlet/flowers are starting to form then alternated for a few weeks....then go back to the low P formula until the end....min if any flush when you use low P for most of flower....im going to figure out the best weeks to spike the P.....

beans just popped Snow....10 for 10 of these giant seeds germinated! Largest seeds I have ever germed.

Running the same Jack's as you. Did your Jack's bloom booster come with any instructions as to mixing rates etc? A buddy gave me a bit but I forgot to ask about dilution rates.
thanks for putting these beans out man -BB

So far we callled JR Peters and talked to a nice lady but not the right person yet. She said to use the product after the onset of flowers for a week, then alternate with their new low P one part hydro herb formula.

1 hydro herb
2 hydro herb
3 bloom booster
4 hydro herb
5 bloom booster
6 hydro herb
7 bloom booster
8 hydro herb low with low p to finish or flush this week......you dont really need to flush if you dont have too much P in the plant. Jacks grow some of the best tasting herb!

Now I dont know if this is correct but im thinking something alomg these liines. I do know you use the bloom booster after the onset of budlets and flower production. High phosphorus causes plants to stretch. You dont want to blast them with a high ppm of phosphorus until after the stretch is concluding.....I dont know how strong im going to mix it yet...im going to call them again and try to get a real technical person on the phone....the lady said that demand in california was literally exploding. I can twait to do my water analysis and tissue sample!

Those beans were fat werent they? I wonder why? The StarDawg beans from JJ were not that big and the beans froms Raskal were not huge either....Im glad all ten poped! Pretty good for an accidental pollen chucking. I wish you good luck. Some StarDawg leaning phenos will be a little hungry for higher Mg levels......

Man my PB BX is starting to look ok! The onset of the purple is kinda crazy! My little clone in the aerocloner has roots so we should be ok to preserve at least another run with the plant. The color is def no joke and is a deep blueish/blackisk/purple look. This plant seems a little touchy as Ive mentioned before.

Im a big fan of Jacks or any cheap cannabis specific powdered nute, sold by a company thats not ripping you off. Making your own nutes is the best way to go and I have not done that yet although I guess I should. For now Jack is doing me pretty good! Hehehe.....Oh yea only the seeds are gone...Ive have maybe 8 beans left for me is all.....

Oh and I made a very limited number of a crazy looking fat seed....The White x StrawberryCough x StarDawg....ive got just a few of those...only a couple of dudes got those seeds. I dont even remember who got those....I have not poped those as of yet.....

beautiful plants Snow...the TarDawg looks so tasty. This thread has definitely made me rethink buying nutes from the 'Dro Store.

Are you still using the two part Jacks combo (hydro + Cal nite) or have you transitioned completely to their new Hydro Herb mix?

thanks

Started on the hydro herb formula last week.....plants seems really perky...very low in P relative to the Nitrogen and Potassium.

I think I will need to add more epsoms maybe as much as two grams! We will this week if they look a little hungry for Mg.

Dont really like switching in mid flower and changing what I normally do, but oh well. Im nervous I might burn my plants when I boost them. I dont want to go too high a ppm with the phosphorus.

Im probably going to use both for awhile to see what is what.
