went to my local hydro shop. Asked for a tds meter. I'm brand new at this and iv no experience in these. Anyway I get home and it's an EC meter. That's fine if it measured in ms/cm but it measures us/cm and I cannot find a conversion chart anywhere. Should I take it back? I specifically asked for a tds meter. Plus he gave me calibration fluid that measures in EC measurements in ms/cm but mine reads us/cm. I'm quite annoyed at the minute. Any advice plz??

Did you know that TDS is actually a conversion of the EC measurement? As is ppm. Are you certain the calibration fluids don't match your meter?

Yes iv looked in to it all. I know I can convert us/cm but it's such a faff. I just wanted a tds meter or an EC meter that measured in ms/cm. I did ask for a tds meter and I understand it was my fault for not checking properly and trusting the salesman and it's a valuable life lesson lol. I have been online for hours and iv finally found a converter luckily. Iv been on ebay and 90% of their meters measure in us/cm. here is a pic of the fluid he sold me. The instructions for the ec meter are hilarious in how badly they are written.

One is microsiemens one is millisiemens isn't it?
